By the way, that is US highway 17.

    The ship's length is 121', 126' sparred with a beam of '23 and a '12 draw. It's a two-masted gaff topsail schooner built in 1917. 6538 square feet of sail and '112 tall. :D

Well, I know the mate. She's only 20 years old. Seven, though two people do advisaries for the ship at the slip in the marina.

Usually, you pay for overnight trips and you can charter it, but I had access through this historical society thing with my prof.

No... it was mainly... he just said that I looked and acted like an interesting guy and he noticed I was wearing Sperry Topsiders and we got to talking about shipbuilding and sailing. He started talking about how he built a '20 sailboat when he was my age and used to sail it out on the Chesapeake Bay and relax when he had time. He told me this story of him anchored in the bay... this superyacht pulls up next to him and lowers a speedboat and he notices poodles running around on deck. The guy in the speedboat asks if he can sit with him on the smaller boat, since it looked like he was enjoying it. After awhile, they got to talking and the rich guy says that he can't enjoy it... etc.

So I was invited by him after I told him I knew someone who had worked on the crew and that I know people who work on the beach where it's harbored, etc. So, that's pretty much it.
