ok, all of you probably know by now that I wasn't able to BF Leane, so I have her on formula.
My "concern" is that she's eating so much!
She's almost 2 months old and is eating an average of 6-7 ounces per feeding.
The hospital told me to feed her on demand, and that's what I've been doing, but when I was still talking to the LC, she said that Leane was eating too much and was going to become an obese child if I didn't stop.
Leane was born a pretty big girl (9 lbs 3 oz), so maybe she just needs lots to keep her body happy.....
She does sleep from 10:30pm till about 8:30am, so she's not eating there, but when she wakes up (like this morning) she ate 9 ounces!!!!!!! I finally had to stop getting more. I don't know how her little belly can fit all that food in there if her stomach is the size of a wallnut.
It's really bugging me what that LC said. She's eating about 40 ounces/day....I think that she's only supposed to be eating about 30 right now. Should I be worried...? I don't want to not give her the food she needs, either.

From what I've heard from you about you LC, I think she's wacked.

It's incredible that your 2 mo old is sleeping so long at night! That's awesome!

I've never fed a babe formula, but I can only assume that your doing the right thing by feeding her on demand and the amount she wants. I can't see your child becoming obese unless you feed her as much junk food as she wants when she's older (or if it's just in her genes, how big are you and Papa?).

Anyway, if you have any conserns, you could call her doc :)

Don't listen to that "LC". You are not making your baby fat. She can't eat more than her tiny tummy holds. A baby will eat when it is hungry. If she eats 40 oz a day, that's what she needs. She might be more active than some babies her age and needs more food.

Babies are supposed to be chunky! I would so rather see a chubby baby than a skinny one. Once she starts crawling and walking she will thin down, but babies really do need to be plump.

    that's what I thought.
I figured what that LC said was pretty stupid.
Yeah, and I'm sooooooooo happy that she sleeps through the night. It's really made is easy on me! But I bet the next babes is gunna make up for it! lol
As for me and papa's size, I'm usually about 140 and papa is quite thin and is 160. So there's no big genes in our family.
I just figure that she's a big baby and just needs lots of food. I mean, right now she's bigger than some 4 month olds. She's just a big girl.

i would worry. if you think about it if you were nursing would you really think about how much she was getting. or just feed her till she stopped and never really know how much shes taking in in ounces. i always nursed on demand especially at that age. so don't worry about it.
