so i am having a very limited selection out here of shampoo that is not full of crap or conditioner, so I kinda concocted my own from this tea tree organic stuff and peppermint hand soap and then a witch hazel rinse to make my scalp feel good =) gets rid of the itchies.... just wondering if anyone else kinda makes their own shampoo cocktails from a mixture of products... if so what do you use here what they are looking like so far
Every time I use a shampoo or soap, I have a difficult time rising it out. So I have started mixing some baking soda and tea tree oil into water, and that works great. Leaves the hair feeling extremely clean.
liquid soul, i like your style. how about this though? i use a big bucket and fill it with warm water, a few drops of tea tree oil, and baking soda to soak, squeeze and rub my hair ultra clean. then follow with a long rinse of strait water. BUT, how much baking soda for that...? 1 cup, half cup, 6 cups??? whadaya think. if theres one thing i hate is going through a work of a good clean and NOT having it turn out well. any advice is well received. thanks.
I figured out that as long as I rinse my hair and scrub with my fingers forEVER after I wash I get all the shampoo out, and the mix has been leaving my hair Literally Squeaky clean HAHA I may try to mix you guys use though....
I use a shampoo bar from lush, karma I think but I'm not sure, It's green and looks like its made out of suet. doesn't seem to leave a residue and its stopped my itches. I'm a bit apprehensive of using tea tree oil because there's evidence to suggest it behaves as a feminizing hormone. With all the other things you come into daily contact with (plasticizers, detergents etc) that nuke your sperm count a bloke can't do enough to protect his fertility.
When I use b/s, I usually just mix it and dump it over my head because it is quicker. But it sounds like what u mentioned would work well for a good deep cleaning. ACV also does a great job. There aren't any rules for it, just experiment and whatever works for you. I never measure it out, just dump some in there. Just use it in moderation....if you have too much b/s, it may dry your scalp out a little.
thanks soaring. and thanks to everyone for the replies.... I dod remember using a nag champa bar once and it left the most residue EVER lol since the wash with the concoction I made last time I haven't had a single itchy... I did wake up the next morning with one major mass dread that engulfed the back of my head where some of the roots unraveled but it wasnt anything a little separating and palm rolling couldn't handle....
