I've been reading and posting in the Transsexual and Transgender community. And because of some of things that are being said, talked about and questions that have been asked I find myself wondering who is and who isn't a transwoman or a transman. For me, because I am a woman who has completed her transition as well as sexual reassignment surgery, I no longer consider myself a transsexual. However, I am willing to help others to learn about transitioning by answering questions and offering comments. My comments are based on my own experiences.

In support groups that I belong to in my home city we have several couples who have persevered through this whole process so I know that significant others have their stories too.

So I am hoping that more of the posters in this community are willing to identify themselves and their connections to the trans community.

A little more about me: I am 62 years old and I did transition later in life although I have known since I was a child that I really was a female. I wasn't an xy male and had a female body. But not being very assertive I didn't attempt to buck the system, I only dreamed about being a girl. Although often I was mistaken for a female and accused of being one, I did try to fit in with the male population. In my early fifties I found out that my body had never produced any testosterone and that paved the way for my transition.
