Me and my friends were walking downtown and saw this homeless guy asking for money and we gave him some spare change. When we were walking away my friend was like "Why don't you just steal shit?" and he was like "I don't steal." Now me and my friends steal shit all the time but I can't help but really respect this guy. For someone to not have anything except the clothes on their back, and still not steal shit, well that really must take alot. I can't imagine being in his shoes.
Becuase all them other hard working people out there are boggarting the money and wont give it away for free?
I really do like how this society brainwashed us to not steal at such an early age. Hell, almost anyone I talk to, no matter from what background, is against stealing. I personally do not see anything wrong with a hungry homeless man stealing some food from Walmart.... but that's just me.
Yeah, if you steal to survive from companies that it wont make a difference to, then its fine However breaking into peoples houses just for some extra cash or for drug money, thats when it crosses the line for me
I dont see anything wrong with that either, but what if he steals from a old lady? or whatever person? I dont think stealing is wrong when it's done out of the need to survive (still shouldnt be on top of your list), but it depends on the circumstances.
I cant answer this question, because I've never been in that situation. I imagine I would not, or at least try my best to not have to, but the reality of it could be completely different.
Yeah...that's what I mean. These corporations are taking advantage of our pre-instituted ethical knowledge. I pity this homeless guy because he doesn't steal from Walmart. Morals and ethics are good to have and follow... but you cannot be a slave to them. I know that I'd be raping Walmart if I was in his situation. Hell, I wouldn't even mind getting caught. Prison doesn't seem like a bad place when you look at it from a homeless man's perspective: A place to live, heating, cooling, sanitation, three meals a day, work, library, entertainment, etc. But yes, I agree... if the same homeless guy steals from anything that's not a multinational corporation, then it's no good. Even though, I don't know how mentally stable Mr. Homeless is... because maybe he knows himself too well, and knows that if he starts stealing, he won't stop stealing, and eventually will start stealing from places other than Walmart. Ahh... people!
I didnt think you were supporting killing and raping either. What I fail to see is how you put killing, raping AND stealing in the same category.
most homeless people can't walk through a store without being stalked by security cops anyways...and there's surveillance cameras everywhere. so unless they want to spend some time in jail, prolly best to stay 'honest'.
why do people always say stealing from corporations is ok? you actually think they just say oh well there gos our profit margin? no they pass the cost down to you and i the consumer.. by justifying stealing from corporations your just approving a tax against yourself imposed by the corporations so someone else can get something for free,.. it makes absolutely no sense....
security cameras are bullshit. you just need to learn how to get around them. even if you throw something in a pocket RIGHT under a camera, IF they're watching the cameras and see you, they're not going to stop you within the next 10 seconds it takes you to get out of the store.
I don't know how this works with other corporations, but with Walmart... They do not tax these items, neither do they add to their price. Corporations have too much to loose by increasing the prices of items that are often stolen (condoms and so on). They can also write these items off as a tax writeoff, and I think that they get somewhere around 1/4th of the cost back. What really happens is that corporations end up investing more money into security to avoid theft.... but no, I have not seen an increase in Walmart's prices, or felt it affect me... even though I constantly see big mama type black women leaving the store with a shopping cart full of unpaid groceries.
