I'm going on month 2 of neglecting my hair. For how straight it is, it's seeming to lock up pretty quickly. But I am still a bit confused about the best way to maintain and grow them, as there are tons of different places online to seek advice. The biggest question I have is about washing. I have Dr Bronners and I've been using it every 5 days or so, but then when I blow dry I smell, very faintly, like a wet dog  I just want to make sure this isn't mold, and also would anyone have advice on how long between washings when first starting out?

Peace and have a snagtastic day

the oily shit is called sebum. its an odorless lipid that keeps the skin and hair supple. but just like any lipid, it decays. and usually when something decays it stinks like hell. sooo yeah i'd say wash your hair the day after it starts feeling greasy. there really is no set amount of time to wait before washing your hair for a boost in dready progress. it's all about your hair type and how long it takes to get greasy.

the smell will go away once your hair is more used to a natural washing cycle. i'm sure.
