i remeber lieing in bed before falling asleep feeling shitty. Thats the only way i can explain it, I felt kind of unwell but not really sick or anything its hard to describe. Not nearly as hard to describe as what happened when i did fall asleep though. At first it was a regular old dream and I had no idea of what was going on, things were jsut hapening and i was enjoying the ride. I was at work(i work at wendy's makeing burgers) and I remeber all the lights had gone off and we were all alloud to go home. Then i remember being suddenly more aware, more consious i guesse would be the right word. I went behind this girl i worked with and hugged her from behind. Man i swear i actually felt her. Then i thought about how i'd like to lie down and cuddle with her, she was quite warm. It happened as though I had control over this dream. This is where it turns unpleasant. I was no longer at work cuddling with the cute girl i work with, I was now aware that I was in my bed in my room. Something was terribly wrong though, I remember thinking my vision was fucked up (i was still asleep and didn't know my eyes were closed) and i coulnd't move a muscle. This had happened before, but man i swear i didn't know whether i was asleep or awake. For what seemed like an eternity I lay there trying to call out for someone to wake me up, with a growing suspicion that someone or something unpleasant was lurking in my closet. My aunt sharon, who was staying over tonight came in to wake me. Or at least I thought so. Ever see an image with its colors inverted? Thats what she looke like, her face and body made up of strange ghostly blues and whites but quite clear. Her appearance did not scare me. By this time i was sure i had lost my fucking mind and was glad to have someone to look after me. She kind of stood on my bed and looked down at me and i was relieved to a certain extent. It was horrible I was sure i had lost my mind. Then she was gone. I lay there still unable to move and jsut able to make small moans(though i'm sure i had dreamed that part too) to try to get some one to help me. I could see my room, my clock with red indistiguishable red numbers on it. I remember then getting out of bed and trying to stumble my way around the corridors, only to find myself back in bed afterwards. Frustrated i picked up a toy rubber rat used as a halloween decoration(its quite ugly) and threw it in my closet. Thhis is the scariest part because the damned thing came running back out at me, barred teeth and with its claws outstretched. Well that did it, i jolted myself awake. That was easily the worst nightmare I had in ages. Nothing that happened was really scary, but see i had thought i had lsot my mind by the end of it and believed these thing were truey hapening. Just figured i'd share it, plus its good too right down ur dreams or u'll forget them. this dream lasted maybe an hour.
Dude, it's called sleep paralysis. Most people experience this due to taking naps during the day. What happens is when you're not fully 'tired' by the time you go to sleep, you get stuck in a half-awake / half-asleep state of mind, and yes, it is quite a nightmare all on its own. Stay awake during the day, and save sleeping for the night. Hopefully it won't happen again, eh?
Sometimes it's sleep paralysis and sometimes it's just a spirit or ghost. People that don't believe in spirits and ghost and are too sciency(if that's a word) will call it sleep paralysis. I had this happen once where i felt someone pushing on my back and also push in my chest where i couldn't barely breathe and call for help. I was definitely awake, my eyes open trying to scream for mommy, haha, but it seems i didn't have my voice. like i lost it. so i know it was a ghost, i felt it was trying to make me turn around and face him and than it would do something horrible to me or not. but it was scary and real. I think it's cus i fell asleep with my arms crossing my chest. since i stopped that, i hadn't had those anymore. my sister had it once and it told her in her head to look at the clock, she knew if she listened she probably wouldn't have woke up and died in her sleep. maybe it was good i didn't turn around and look at the ghost. i'm alive!!!!!
hey! i am glad to find this thread because i always thought that i am the only one who is experiencing this "sleeping paralysis".....it happens really ofte to me....i fall asleep...and then i "wake up" and i am not able to move...i try to shout for help...but then i realize that nobody can hear me....sometimes i een try to get up...but then it is like someone tries to pull me out of my bed... ...it happened that i was afraid of going to bed because i knew that this will happen....but last night when i felt asleep it happened again...i dreamed something and "woke up" again to find myself in this strange state of mind...and i tried not to be afraid...and it worked...i was there in my bad...eyes closed...but i saw the same picture as i would have seen with open eyes...and then i saw a face of a girl...didn't know her...her face was flying around in the room talking with me...don't remember what she said!...finally i knew that if i open my eyes i would wake up...but i did not want to...finally i did... after wakeing up i thought of what it might be...and i think that maybe it works like acid or other psycedelix work...just pusshing away a barricade in the brain! what do u think about that???....any experiences??? ...and...ähhm...please excuse my bad english
LOL, im sorry but that sounds hilarious to me, some guys dreaming, halfwakes up... *ergh* ERRRGGGHHH* Guy: damn! I can't move!! *squirm* Guy: hellpppppp!!!!!!! LMAO!!!
I've had these experiences too. The paralysis freaks me out - rarely have I had any bad imagery. However, I have felt hands (or something) pressing on parts of my body and voices or gasps in my ears. These are the most frightening nightmares for me. I hate going back to sleep and often stay up with the light on.
