Lots of times I think back on things that we used to have that no longer exist even if you wanted them. Like the card catalogue in the library. There are some old things that I still hang onto and still use (hand grater for potatoes for example). I even have a rotary phone. Anything gone that you kinda have fond memories over that you just can't get? Out here in California you can get milk in glass quart bottles... four something like four times the price!
When I "started driving", I could fill up the propane tank on my El Camino for about $3.50($.17 a gallon with a flat tax sticker) I really miss that.
i miss going to the A&W and just parking there and getting a carhop coming to the car to take and deliver the order ...miss the small drive-ins .........miss the camaderie of friends on the weekends who would set up a corn boil and a party in half an hour .but most of all i miss the bootleggers ..
I miss the Unity that brought us all together in the first place. I miss the free concerts in the park. I miss the countryside that is now fill with trailers.. I miss the Woods that use to strech from Dallas to the gulf coast. I miss the snow that use to fall in the winter. I miss my daughter..
Oh yeah! We used to get a gallon jug of A&W rootbeer and a sack of Momma burgers. Then we'd go to the park and just listen to Cheech and Chong and swing on the swings. It was a blast.

That is probably lost forever.. damn LEOS!!!!!!!!! oh well brother measa WILL BE RELEASED IN 26 DAYS!! an he will be out. free as a bee as he should be.. yeah somethin old i miss.. that walkin stick..:H maybee ill see it again.. in his hand..
The "Helmsman" would come by our house every morning around 10 am. Inside their cars and inside the back doors would be floor to ceiling wooden drawers which the Helmsman would pull out so you could select the cookies, donuts, brownies, and bread you might like to purchase. I cannot recall the price but five cents comes to mind for the glazed donuts... and we would always get a dozen... which would last about 10 minutes in our house! My favorite was the jelly donuts which were also glazed. This was the account during 1935, the story for me was pretty much the same in the 60's with a tan 1960s panel van coming by..... the url http://www.lilesnet.com/paul/Memories/helms.htm 1935 Helms Bakery trucks glazed donuts
