I wish the bills would pass. The impact on the internet, with the "shoot first, ask later" approach the law would take, would shut down virtually every website which has user interaction. Including search engines. The internet is probably the worst thing that's happened to humanity since World War II. I'd love to see the whole thing reduced to ashes. Ironically, I see no moral objection to the concept of piracy. Or maybe it's the primitivist in me speaking.

Could you elaborate on this a little more? I've said on this forum before but I'll reiterate that the internet can be good in so many ways however it seems so many people have abandoned more credible sources in exchange for blogs and the misinformation websites so often provide. It's funny how people are very content to ignore misinformation as long as it reinforces their worldview (and get angry when actual facts and evidence dispute it). So in a way, I think on some level I agree with you, but an equal part of me thinks shutting the whole thing down would be throwing the baby out with the bathwater, so to speak.
