If you want peace in the world the meat eaters need to stop eating meat & contributing to the law of Karma there is violence & war as a reaction to the dozens who participate in the cruelty that is meat eating not to mention the environmental, political, social & Spiritual effects it has?

I suggest If you eat meat you think again check these sites out & if they dont persuade you not to eat it then this should?

    @ http://www.gitamrta.org/meat.htm:
some of the sections on this page are worded a little weirdly...

for example some omnis would put AR activists under "vegetarian terrorists"...

also, i disagree with some of the points made about dairy. it says from "our birth to our death we rely on cows milk", when there are many lactose-intollerent people and those who avoid dairy for ethical, health etc reasons (like me - i'm a vegan) who do not rely on cows milk for anything.
although saying that, the vast majority of people do consume dairy products.

Hmmm... that's an interesting way to think about vegetarianism being tied to peace through karma. :) I also avoid eating animals because it seems to me that the negative energy, fear, and sadness carried in the animal during their life and violent slaughter is present in the meat, and I don't want that in my body. I've noticed that most vegetarians I meet seem more at peace, perhaps because they're not contributing to as much suffering and have a bit better karma as a result.

Yeah I always tell people that they're eating a tortured soul.. It sounds dramatic but I mean just what you're saying hah.
But not everyone is down with the energy thang...

ISKCON members are lacto, based on the Vaishinava(sp off) habits of 5000 years.

KC, this is not the venue to promote your faith. I understand and respect that it is bsically your duty to do so, I was ISKCON for a while, but you are out of line posting religiopropaganga here.
you are welcome to share recipies, resources and day to day life, but check the preaching at the door and we'll all get along.
