It was, and is. We have winter back this week! At least there's no snow, just a sprinkling the other day mixed with rain.
I went to a new park further down and spent a few hours there yesterday. It had quite a few benches and a few picnic tables. I'll have to go back in the summer for a picnic. There were rocks placed intermittently between the shrubs (red and yellow dogwoods) going down to the shoreline. There's an open air museum in some of the parks at the lake, with monumental sculptures. This park had just the one. I want to make my way across the lake to a bigger park that has quite a few of them, more interesting pieces. The ferry only runs in July and August, I'll have to look out for it this summer. Another mallard flew in to meet this one shortly after I took this shot. Luckily I was filming when he came swooping in. It was a sunny day, albeit a bit windy, and the sun was casting some nice shadows. This tree always looks like it's about to keel over.
It was a sunny one minute, rainy the next kind of day. I saw a gorgeous rainbow but by the time I got close enough to snap the shot (I only had my phone camera with me) it was already almost gone. Rainbows are so fleeting. You can see a bit of it just above the horizon to the left, but it was a beautiful arc seconds before.
Coordinates for E.T.'s trek back home. ;-p They have a slew of sculptures across the lake in another park. I'll ask about the symbols when I go to the park across the lake this summer (they have a tour of the park).
That is in your neighborhood for real? I generally have to drive a couple of hours then hike a couple of miles to see a view like that
Peonies are blooming here. Some recent photos of the ones that have bloomed. Stray hot pink one bloomed 2-3 days ago, and white/pale pink ones i planted started opening today....Many more buds to open on the bush I planted. Sorry for small photos. Too much work for me right now to battle with photobucket. Since I have not upgraded to Windows 10 , it takes me too long to upload photos now....and is an effort of love if I ever do again.
