Is it just me or are most dreads really started in spring? Suddenly there are a lot of new people here starting dreads and a lot of people with dreads that I've met have started them around May/June. Not that it's a bad thing, mine are less than two weeks away from their first birthday too, but it just quite remarkable. So did you start your dreads around this time too, or is this all just my overactive imagination? Also, when dreads are started by backcombing they resemble baby chicks, young and very fluffy
I started mine in October,,,I think sometimes when you start something you notice it more. You become more aware of itwhen I got my dog I was noticing the same breed everywhere. It's cute
not really sure Im forgetful and Im starting to doubt myself on when I officially got em but a couple months back
i've noticed the same trend (i started mine last week in april. lol) though i wish i had started them in the fall, that way i could really hide my head under a hat without getting odd looks. hahaha. I've been sticking with my usual bandanas but i am still a wee bit self conscious about walking around with crezeh hair sticking out all over the place. Anyway, i do seem to notice that lots of new people are beginning to start the process around this time of year as well.
Jan 08' And yeah...I think the spring has little to do with peoples' overall decision to let hair dread.
Spring is the time of growth, renewal and change...people tend to make changes in their life at this time of year, whether it be in their relationships, their living enviroment or their appearance.
I started mine....two months ago...I think? I don't remember... But, the idea seems plausable. People want to go out, have a good time, go to the beach, camping, swimming and hair is probably something some people don't want to worry about while they are out enjoying nature during the nice weather. I guess I could say I feel that way.
I do too, altough I also have to agree with Lux and the rest who said the same thing. When something special happens you see stuff like it everywhere.
