Anyone remember the video Stacy's Mom by Fountains Of Wayne:

It came out over 20 years ago. (Boy I feel old.) Also, I don't know why this video turned me on a little when I first saw it. I have been confirmed predominantly homosexual and gay since at least age 12 or 13 (before then I seemed confirmed heterosexual, or so I thought at least). Two scenes in particular turned me on somewhat. At 0:21 when she's sitting down in her car. Just her legs seem so sexy to me at that point. Kind smooth, but also legs of an older woman. And then at at 2:19 when she kneels down to sweep some dust off her kitched floor. You see her cleavage. Again, they are the cleavage of an older woman, and that turned me on a little and still does. (Also I always found that pole dance rather sexy for some reason.) But like I said, I can't explain any of it.

Also, you know I was commenting on the video Stacy's Mom by Fountains Of Wayne just now. And I posted “Ave” dico matri Stasiae atque “Vale” Stasiae. Because it's true you know it is.

The obliquely named Fountains of Wayne is not just a fictional Sopranos scenic backdrop or 1990s power pop band. It is a real place where you can shop for real outdoor cement fountains, and it is an enduring fixture in northern New Jersey.

I always loved the name Fountains of Wayne, and the fact that it was named after a local business.. was sad when I heard it closed..

Thank you Piney and Wraggo62 for your replies.

Like I said Ave dico matri Stasiae atque Vale Stasiae = "I say hello to Stacy's mom and good bye to Stacy" (from a saying attributed to the Roman poet Catullus). There was some disagreement what Stacy would be in Latin. Stacy seems to be a diminutive of Anastasia in American English. But I ran Stasia thru the Google translator and they said it was acceptable. (Stasiae is of course Stasia when it is in the dative case. Or is it the accusative?)

Oh. Some nice man online just now corrected my sentence above "I say hello to Stacy's mom and good bye to Stacy". He said he would render Stacy as Statius (M.) /Statia (F.) after a lesser known poet, and he would have worded the sentence a little differently. He'd write it Matrem Satiae saluto atque Staiae valedico. Either way works he said. But as a person who knew Latin he just thought that sounded better.

I still like my version though, Ave dico matri Stasiae atque Vale Stasiae. Like I said, when I make memes or translate things I don't mind if they have minor imperfections in them. It sometimes makes them better, I think.
