A reader said in bass guitar mag that putting stickers all over your bass/guitar really helped the sound. i sounded like bullshit to me. what you guys think?
I don't play Bass either. But I've got a nice Fender acoustic. I'll never ruin the finish with stickers.
1 guitar that I bought from a friend had stickers all over it. I took the time to remove every single one of them.
I find playing well, getting to know your instrument and the amp helps.. But if that's too much work, I guess stickers are good.
I have one sticker on the back of my bass,it's this buddah lookin' dude. What that guy said sounds like bs though...Who knows
yeah, i thought it was crap as well. i don't think i could bring myself to plaster my guitar with stickers...she's too purdy.
well, i take it back, some guitars look cool with only one sticker somewhere...if you know what i mean.
over an electric guitar/bass, it wouldnt do anything. with an acoustic instrument, depending upon the sticker, the size, the stickieness chemicals, you could slightly modify the resonance.. they make these little sticky pads you can stick on drum heads, completely change the sound. its like a much milder case of that
i'm pretty sure these folks were talking about an electric bass. it's in the little messages that readers submit in bass guitar magazine if any of you get that. it's either the issue with billy sheehan or jaco pastorius.
i got some stickers on one of mine, i did do it to give it some caracter, make it more persenal, nothing to do with soundquality tho I would never place a sticker on A-class guitar...unless i was filthy rich, or had a good (record)deal:sunglasse (wich means replacing smashed guitars & amps)
I think it doesn't matter if it means something to you, but I'd rather do without. Though it's bad on really good guitars for tone and collector's value... won't let the finish breathe, from a woodworker's point of view. Guess it doesn't really matter if it's laminate.
