    Hey guys,

I, Like anyone else, find it difficult to sleep after coming down from stimulats. I was wondering if the sleep related hormone: Melotonin would be safe to consume after i come down. Im dont think that it makes you tired by depressing your system, im pretty sure it just regulates your cycle. Id like to take some melotonin tonight because i could use some decent sleep.

Melatonin is super chill. You're correct about the sleep regulation. There are a few downsides to the substance that you will soon find out if you start to use it. First of all, since it isn't a depressant, it's effects are nowhere near as potent as Xanax or Valium. Also, I have noticed that it occasionally messes with my circadian rhythm, but only when I use it for a few days in a row. My suggestion: 6 mg of Melatonin, a glass of warm milk, and Ganja... enough to put you into a full on catatonic state. Be aware that Melatonin affects your Serotonin levels. I'm not sure what type of stimulants you are talking about, but Serotonin overload is no fun (see Serotonin Syndrome).

I have tons of experinece with speed and developed my own methods way back to deal with sleep...
This is the trick, two steps...

    1.)Eat a lot.
    2.)Smoke a lot.

In that order, or else it really won't work as well. And if you don't have weed I don't know what to tell you. I used to go on sleep strikes until my mom bought me some weed when I used to do meth... LoL, I really did have an awesome
    Mom.

Like you said, Melatonin is the signal your brain releases to regulate your sleep pattern. If you want to fall asleep at the same time everyday and are having trouble (because of something like adderall), then take melatonin everyday at the same time and you should get tired and ready to sleep about an hour after you take it. It doesn't work quite as well as a depressant that will make you fall asleep right after you take it.

My doctor recommended it to me to get to sleep after taking adderall (which is just various amphetamines). He also said it is probably the safest drug on the planet. Don't worry about it.

also dont bother with it, if youre losing sleep from amphetamines, melatonin wont help, melatonin helps if youre cycle is out-of whack. amphetamines dont really mess with your cycle as much as they override it. an example of when melatonin may help is when youre staying up each night on the computer and then cant sleep.

if youre tweaked out, taking melatonin will probably only help you in a placebo manner by making it easier for you to believe youre able to sleep and thus relax more.

the basic line is that if youre staying up because youve taken speed, then youve got a drug in you that is keeping you awake when you would normally be tired. you need another drug to counteract this effect, not a hormone which puts your body into sleep mode, since the drugs stimulant effect wont go away.

but hey, you can try it, as said, theres no real harm in trying.

if youre taking stimulants every day it might help to also take melatonin every day, but this is because hormones are meant to work on a long-term manner and not a single dose manner
