medical conditions, or the meds used to treat them can both cause weight gain. but i think that what does people in is not seeing mental health as a medical condition as well. its often compounded, and eating, especially eating high carb, high sugar foods is a primitive brain comfort. it made our cavemen ancestors feel good to eat the fruit, sugar is energy, and we needed those precious nutrients to sustain us. the food-reward loop is very strong in humans. even if your primary medical condition isnt mental, depression and trauma and anxiety can compound on it. and then you just want anything that makes you feel good... or stop feeling. society judges the drinkers and the druggers and the eaters, and we all just want to escape the pain, for a minute, for a day. for as long as this bag will last.

is there a reason a person is fat, obese? yeah. but my grandpa with the robot leg could have been in a car accident. he wasnt. he has diabetes and doesnt take care of himself, and he didnt want to leave his cat alone to have his toes, and possibly foot amputated, and by waiting a day (or a few, i cant remember) ended up losing his leg up to the knee. so yeah, it was diabetes, but also his hermitty self, and lack of mental health, or really any human support that took so much of his leg.

we should treat the whole person. the biggest lie our brains tell us is that its just us, we are alone to suffer. so many people are suffering, and feeling that alone. but we are not. there are SO MANY of us.

 

the meds for mental health often stop the bad thoughts but they block an equal amount of good or normal thoughts too.....its like the person is a shell....fucking sucks

 

I think most nurses are put in a really bad position. I feel they undoubtedly have the knowledge you need/want; but, medical "guidelines and rules" forbid them from discussing anything with the client. Perhaps not in your situation, and hopefully not in your situation....but I know of numbers of times the nurse actually knows MORE about a person's condition because they see the patient more and oft times have more compassion than the doctor. I don't know how it is there in Canada, but I've encountered it more times than I care to remember that a nurse "couldn't tell" what I wanted/needed to know and I'd have to wait on the doctor.

I held back...she didnt know me or lawren so I give her a pass....I did ask the big doctor to make sure it doesn't happen again...they made me sub decision maker today by telephone....that is extremely rare as it usually requires appearing before a board but the doctor can decide in certain circumstances....it is what it is....cat scan sometime over night

 

you have am aptitude for the craft, Fae! this is the inspiration for my next project. if you search "kyoto regency wrap bra" there are a couple of different versions people have modded. its based on an extant garment. im planning to make mine joined in the back, but its really hard to fit things to your own body without a form, and especially when it involves positioning boobflesh where you want it to stay.
i really think jumps are going to be a thing i make many of as well. i would rather not have to wear a bra, but im prone to high beams in all temperatures, so a quilted waistcoat just sounds fantastic.

There is a place that does a good vegetarian version, but I'm only going to be there for a day and a half and probably won't have time to get there.

 

They have some of them in McDonalds.. short on seats when we went in for ice cream.. so we both sat on one..

 

If my wife's family wasn't in Ontario, I'd for sure be living in Halifax right now.
