ok here is what ive been thinking since i began seeing Bills posts, and just curious if anyone else feels the same. i have noticed that he is rather cynical in many of his posts, but a lot of his mocking and sarcasm comes from simple things most of us would overlook or such as in some cases are due to his own faults. on the other hand he also seem like a guy i would sit and burn one with. but being the type who observes others i think he is an ass. judging by most of his posts and replies he seems to be insecure in his social ability. he feels inferior to others so in this place of free speech for all he makes fun of others for all to see. giving himself the title of Dr. gives others the impression you are intelligent, but those of us who can see through his mask he’s just a jerkoff.

i've always thought it was odd and i have never understood why people come out of nowhere to start a thread based on their personal feelings about another forumer and this is the most hilariously prime example that i've come across so far.

i'm pretty fond of DR. bill, myself

sometimes, while reading through a horrably inane or misinformed thread, i'll come across a reply made by him that says everything i was hoping someone would say. he seems to only reply when he knows what he's talking about - wich i really appreciate - and i think he could be far more of a "jerkoff" if he wanted to.

when someone gives themselves the title of "Dr." i get the impression that they have a sense of humor, unless they're actually a doctor. they could also be a doctor with a sense of humor, like Hunter S. Thompson with his phd in journalism "i'm a doctor of journalism, damnit!". regardless, a phd in advanced biology [edit: i later find out i read "bongology" as "biology", i'ma dork.] means there's probably intelligance to be found in the holder.

im flattered that you made a thread about me, but you shoudl perhaps not take some things i say as personally as you might have.

what im curious about is how you make judgements on my social insecurity?

general cynicism comes with spending what, two years on a marijuana forum hearing some of the same stuff over and over . thats not an excuse or something, but just to perhaps shed light on the instances i get really fucking pissed off at posts.
so ill vote for cynical bastard.

until bongology is an internationally accepted area of science, you dont have to feel condascended by my doctorate title. but im working on that one.

 

I got the same type of vibe when I first started seeing his posts, too. But after a while I realized that he 's a very intelligent individual and gives great advice. He might come off as cynical or arrogant sometimes, but he's actually one of the most down to earth folks on the forums. He is non-biased in most, if not all, of his opinions. He does seem to have a rather dry sense of humor, but that's only because it goes over our heads at times. I'm sure that he was just trying to be clever in claiming to be a bongologist in his sig, but who doesn't like a clever sig? Get your thumb out of your ass and take in some of the advice that bill has to offer. You can only benefit from it.

 

I don't think that cynical asshole and ok guy are mutually exclusive. That being said, I happen to think Bill's great. Sure, not everything he says is sweet, but he's one of the few people posting consistently intelligent, funny, and worthwhile comments.

Bill is one of the coolest members on this forum. He's not a jerk, he just knows his shit and posts it when it's needed, and thank god for it, because as someone else said, reading through a thread of uninformed BS is annoying, and it's relieving to see someone come out with some real knowledge. And, he doesn't make fun of people nearly as much as a lot of other posters I could name. Probably a full 50% of humor is sarcams/cynicism, so that can't be a bad thing.

You just need to chill, man. You'll see eventually.

 

So far, only two votes have been for "cynical asshole" and "insecure jerkoff", and I think one of them was actually bill. The other being the OP.

 

I think he is a very intelligent guy who knows what the fuck he is talking about, even when he isnt agreeing with me... unlike you I can accept the fact I could be wrong in areas and look forward to correction. I dont see what point you are trying to prove in this thread, and I see it as a dick move to put the spotlight on someone to make yourself feel more comfortable...

but seriously he is a very decent bloke from his posts and shit. enough of the negative posts, negative vibes are bad man! if you don't like someone, fair enough, we cant expect everyone to get along, but makin a thread about it to i dunno, attempt to turn others against him or put him down is stupid. especially if its bill, cos noone's gonna listen. keep it to yourself, noone wants to see negative posts in particular, particular not about u dislikin somone.
