Stoners the most social collective?

So i was just thinking about all the random people i have smoked with before.. and how smoking easily brings people together... i would have to think that pot smokers are probably by far some of the most social people on earth.. im one of them smokers what will usually smoke just about anyone up.. wether i know you or not.. just to make convo and meet new people... only social group i think that would be higher are drunkards.. since they just seem to want the attention of anyone and everyone when they get a couple drinks in them

 

its probably because when you met them you already know you have something in common that you both enjoy very much so that your on a certain level of comfort with that person. Then you can be more open with them than you could with, lets say, a straight edge. Not saying that you couldnt be cool with them too its just easier with something your more familiar with.

 

I'd actually say drunks/alcohol more then stoners/pot.

 

nonstoners seem to thing that weed is rong wether alchol is alright and perfectly normal in our society. ITs sorta like geting aproval from people u meet sorta thing.

 

i think its more that there are open stoners and closed stoners and not much in between. the only stoners youre gonna meet are those who are open, caus all the others would be too paranoid or something to talk with a random

If anything they can laugh about just about anything and find each other funny but on a plain social level its really worse then non stoners. Most pot heads have simple inputs in convorsations and thats that. But if something is funny they will rant about it for about an hour.

 

I think smokin weed def. brings people together, ive met a lot of friends from smoking, and as far as drinking goes, you may be social with people while you're drunk but the next day i usually dont even remember talking to half the people or what was said, i suppose if you just drink a little then you can become friends with people but who does that.

 

Zeppelin...you posted in the psychedelic forum that you used LSD or shrooms once and that now you're addicted to them. "Most" of the potheads I know are very intelligent people and can have conversations about anything and bring good points to the table. The stupidest people I've ever met are both stoners and not stoners.

I find the biggest social connection to be cigarette smokers, weed smokers being more like a cult. If you don't smoke you generally don't know who all the stoners are, yet when you are a stoner, it's like you're on the inside of something. Always being secretive...

The comment about people who smoke together already having common ground on which to get along is the closest we'll come to describing it. That's some good old psychology/sociology stuff right there. Think about it - if you're a musician and you meet someone who plays an instrument, there's something to use as a springboard for conversation right there. Who do you play with, what do you play, how long, etc etc. Same goes for pot - what kind of pipe do you like, what kind of bud do you have, where have you smoked, have you ever gotten caught. It's all about the stories we share with each other and how you get to that point.

 

there is this girl in my math class that just wont stop saying weed is so bad for me blah blah blah yet she conciders getting drunk everynight is much better....i talk to her about it and all she does is tell me im wrong and ignores me the rest of the day....i guess there is no helping brain washed ignorant people like that.

I think that open stoners are the best. I love metting people who are not ashamed that they smoke and I think its right that it starts you off with something in common..and you can always share stoner stories

no, all stoners are awesome, and everyone that doesnt smoke are assholes end of story

 

I definetly think weed provides for a much chiller atmosphere, and that stoners are definetly awesome people. I love how you can easily connect with people and stoners do seems to be more "nice".

And I hate that alcohol vs weed thing. Alcohol is much worse for you, yet just because weed is illegal and alcohol is legal non-stoners can never admit that alcohol is worse then the herb. I don't like the fact that they don't look at the reasons why weed is illegal, and that they think it's illegal so it must be much worse for you then things that are infact legal. Just bothers me how people can be so close-minded.

 

The funny thing is they've never tried weed. They think its so addictive and screws up ur life, but oh well i learned to sorta walk around those people as i don't enjoy their company

 

Hmm i dont know about you guys, but I find drunks to be social, but not necessarily fun to be around. I personally dont like being drunk, being high is way more fun. High people are a lot more relaxed and are more fun to be around. Being high also makes me be more outgoing and I talk to people more often when I'm stoned.
