I've decided to set tripping aside for decent while, probably a year or so. I'd like to come back to mushrooms someday and learn the lessons that need to be learned. I'm gonna have to sit on them though to make sure I'll have a personal source. What would be the best way to store them?

freezer. prevent freezer burn if you can by storing them low away from vents inside unit.. While this dont really effect potency, when you taste a freezer burn shroom well, YUCK.:puke:. just like a freezer burn Eggo.. it just ruines your whole day.. :p

orison319 - i have heard that the potency of stored 'shrooms, even properly stored ones decreases something like 25% for every 6 months.

orison319 or anyone - thoughts on this? i got 5-6 grams tightly wrapped in ziplocs inside a Mason jar, but it's well over a year old . . . .

Im sure some of the potency does decrease a bit, as with most other psyches, however if stored away from light and especially air, mushrooms will definitely last over a year...had a friend store a chocolate in the freezer for about a year, ate it at a fest this year and definitely tripped nicely. There are some reports floating around, I believe, about psilocybe mushroom samples being found in Egypt ranging from 150-200 years with trace amounts of psilocybin in them!

Like everything, psilocybin deteriorates over time, but not at a 25% annual rate man. That's retarded yo.

I store my mushies in pint jars with the lid pressed, and a pouch of silica. Cracker dry months later.
People also use honey, capsules, olive oil, and chocolate.
You can do any of these methods with dry shrooms and then move them to the freezer for some extra years.

You put the dried shrooms right into the honey?

i have never really bought the shrooms decrease potency, cause I figured it was a myth created by impatient people, that can not sit on something for a while..

understandably they may lose some potency, but not all that much - they really just shrink in the freezer cause the water is being condensed into ICE..

Freezer in a zip lock, turkey bag, or preferably mason jars. Make sure there dry, as in the thinnest part of the stem cracks easily with one hand.

    Child,

i am Spicey Cat, not yo. Don't use yo as a noun with me please. Use it as a verb. Example, "Yo! Spicey Cat! Where's that DMT girlfriend?!?"

i am working on pulling up that reference on the 6 months - it came from an Entheogen Review article. When i find it i will post it.

Please post your documented information, woman.

In the interim please do NOT insult the intelligence of the developmentally disabled community (of which my cousin is a member) by calling ME retarded. i really do NOT appreciate that yo.
