Is it a problem that I extremely dislike most of them? There are some who are different, but every time I find a guy watching ashley and I in a mall or something, I wanna castrate him. Men are pigs, and they're underming the seriousness and validity of the lesbian relationships. Theres a crisis going on.
Young girls are showing off for young boys, and I find it disgusting. If you are under the age of 16, and you're making out with your friends who are the same sex as you, you need to be spoken to.
they're succeedeing in making women into puppets, and we've been fighting it for so long. I'm really afraid for the new found 'hot lesbian action'. If you're busty blonde its hot to be with another girl. If you're a short haired brunette, its gross. I hate every woman that has sex or makes out with another girl In public when they are NOT a couple. you should be disgusted with yourselves, yes?
I have no idea what the truth is in the probelm, but i do know how I feel. Coming out seems to mean nothing anymore.
    opinions?

    .

I agree to a point. It seems to undermine everything I've been struggling for. It's a stupid thing for a teenage girl to do to gain the attention of boys. It's objectifying and demeaning to lesbians. And pretentious, and silly, and it shows how desperate those people are. But, teenage girls have been doing stupid, pretentious, silly and desperate things to gain the attention of boys for centuries. So, I forgive them their childishness. Because they're children. So, yeah, I wish people like you would say something to them. (Coming from an old hippy punk like me, a reprimand would seem creepy)

There's also the Girlz ethic of reclaiming your sexuality. Not every woman is chaste or wants to be. To these women, exhibiting yourself could be seen as showing control of their sexuality, rather than being controlled. I can see how that looks wrong, even thought I tend to agree with the idea.

The sexual play and dynamics of teenagers and young adults is always screwy with lots of game playing, testing the waters, and failed attempts at some sort of dominance. That is the classic age for this type of development -it's before we're able to see our partners as equals. The girls who kiss their (female) friends will feel that they are in control, as they are initiating the excitement. The boys watching them will believe they're in control as they were able to elicit a "deviant" behavior out of them. Ultimately, I believe these are conflicts that must be worked out between the individuals. More than likely the girls will walk away hand and hand giggling and go off to buy an ice-cream while the boys are left to contend with their own mounting sexual frustration. Who's the winner there? Well, nobody; but ain't that the kind of stupid, pretentious, silly and desperate things kids do?

I'm hoping that this whole "girls kissing thing" (thanks Madonna) plays out as just another trend, like the hula hoop. It may even turn out to opening some people up to the fact that lesbians aren't such bad people after all.

Yeah well, on the other hand, trends like that also made my mom say that I only thought I was attracted to girls because it was fashionable

Yeah, I don't agree with it. But I don't know how to make it go away.

I think I understand where We All Shine On is coming from.

Nevertheless, I believe that at least a few girls under 16 who are making out with friends of the same sex are lesbians; they're not necessarily showing off for boys. If they are showing off for boys, that's wrong.

Some girls--and boys--are experimenting. We're always going to have that with us. Maybe I'm a bit old fashioned, but I think that the best experimentation takes place in private. When you do it in private, that's when you have more control.

Maybe the next time you see girls going at it for boys, you could say something like "Ewww...fake lesbians!"

Well, as a straight man, let me say this: let me ask you if you thought it appropriate for me to hate most women because of the actions of a few.

Straight men can drink well, get in less fights than lesbians, and watch less shit TV than women and gay guys. Thus I find them awesome.

I don't completely agree with you, We All Shine On. I think that this "trend" of homosexuality may not be a trend at all. I think that it is just becoming more acceptable for people to be gay. Thus, people that were always gay are just able to come out. I think that anything that encourages someone to be true to him/herself is good. I have seen the pain of trying to hide the truth and it's horrible. My best friend is gay and I watched as he tried desperately to be ok with himself. I have seen anything more painful. Thus, I think that this "trend" or sudden burst of homosexuality is good.

It's neat that you put it in that light.

It's best not to be negative about everything.

Now now, I'm sure you and your partner's lesbian action is hot too!

In fact, why don't you tell us more? If you have pictures, that's cool too.

Thanks a lot. I like to hear that other people can look at the positive side too. I'm sick of hearing "idealist" and "optimist" being used in negative ways. Without us optimists, the world would be a much darker place.

i think you are a bit harsh Shine..i mean, who cares about other people faking their sexuality? it shouldnt bother you that much, but i do understand where you are coming from though. I have this friend who says is bisexual, but she is so not into girls. if she is she's not into me then...:(

anyway, brunettes are nice ;) i am one!

There's a subtle difference between staying in the closet out of fear of rejection by a peer group and coming out for the attention.

Redheads r hot 2!! My partner is a redhead, she s 51 and I am 38 and ash blonde. I see alot of teen girls making out in the malls now a day. So, I say Right on. Be happy that 2 day, teens can be so open in public w/their affections.
When I was a teen in the early 80"s u didn't dare say or whisper that u were gay or lez.,(esp. if u were a teen) for fear of being ostrecise or expelled from school or evicted from ur family home!! Ever hear of Ryan White? He was a young man (boy) who contracted aids through a blood transfusion he was shunned from school, being in the general public, even his family home, and his family were threatened, harassed, and were perceived as evil doers! I'm serious, check old newspapers or the web, better yet talk to other gay/str8 ppl over the age of 30. See Aids was brand new disease that was afflicting a majority of ppl. from various walks of life. No 1 was quite sure how u got aids or tranmitted it, hell let alone how u could be safe from it, other then to isolate a person and treat them like a leper. I know this is a lil. off track, but It's imp. to remember the past, because for those who don't, you are doomed to repeat it!! So, my point to this is simple, If you love some1, well be happy and express it, be it in public or in private, for there r others who paved the way for ur right to be open in this society 2 day, w/their life and/or their rights. peace and love to all, Kat:cool:
