It's not as strange as it appears. Moon is a HUGE supporter for Republicans and conservative groups. He also owns the Washington Times. I can see him supporting Falwell.

It's all about money. Falwell and Moon are basically going for the same thing politically, and Moon has the funds and since he owns the Washington Times, he has power over a prominent conservative mouthpiece.
