    Streams of Life

    Nobody names the streams;
    those trivial affairs running through the woods
    or down upon the hillsides;
    sometimes flowing,
    sometimes not;
    small and irregular;
    transient as the weather.

    But I say they are more real than the rivers,
    for they are their beginnings.
    and I say they are larger than the ocean,
    for they are its source.
    and life is revealed in their come-and-go manner.

    For does not life also ebb and flow?
    Is not all life small and tentative,
    brief but vigorous in its blooming?
    And though always on the downward trend
    to the valleys of death and the sea;
    they’re always laughing,
    ever dancing,
    toward union in oceans of glee.

    What a great vibe! :)

    Reminds me of 'The Prophet'
    or the 'Tao Te Ching'
    in its clear flowing combinations;

    lighting up nuances
    with a brilliant glow.

    Sylvan was dead on when he likened it to the writing of Khalil Gibran. Only last night I was immersed in the prophet and found in it the most beautiful meditations...

    There's a quote from (I'm about to show my nerdiness) Babylon 5. "The avalanche has already started. It is too late for the pebbles to vote." It applies here somehow, otherwise it wouldn't have made me think of it hehe.

    To be compared to Kahlil Gibran...I'm blushing! You are far too kind; but thank you all just the same :)

    I def. agree with Bhaskar and Sylvan...it does remind me a bit of Kahlil Gibran... absolutely gorgeous...thank you for sharing... I love poems about moving water...they happy me (as my friend would say)...very much. Please keep up the beautiful work. :)

    *peace and love*
