So i just went up from a 0g to a 00g, and i was a 0g for a couple months now and when i put my tapers in to stretch my left ear hurts the worst. Any time i take my tapers out of the left ear, it looks highly disturbing and it bleeds like crazy. is this normal? what should i do?

this is not normal, and you probably tore something. downgrade as soon as possible and let it heal, otherwise you may get a blowout, which are nasty. i'm up to 1/2" and had a blowout. i fixed it by putting my plug in backwards, but the lobe is thinner and not as stretchy as the other. others aren't so lucky. i've downgraded to 00 for a few weeks and am back up to 7/16". giving my lobes time to thicken. rushing is never a good idea if you want good, healthy lobes. massage them with jojobo oil or vitamin e to soften the skin and thicken it up. good luck though and take your time! it's worth it. =)

when you put a taper in you shouldn't keep taking it out and opening the wound again. And whatever you do don't try and clean it with alcohol

hold your lobe in a cup of warm saltwater to loosen up the crusties and gently wipe them off but don't twist the taper

I must agree with WednesdayAfternoon, you need to put your plug back in and let it heal. after it has healed if you still want to stretch it, use some Vitamin E capsules split open on it to make the skin more resilient, and slowly stretch it back out. There should be no blood, or any type of wound. just be very careful, keep it clean, and be patient with it because it will be harder to stretch properly now that it has been injured.

well what did you get pierced with? a small stud or a needle and then they slid it out and a ring in?

My ears are 1". First and foremost... be patient. Don't rush the stretches. Blown out ears look nasty and will give you problems forever. Remove the upsized jewelry, clean your ear well with an unscented antibacterial soap, and if possible throw in a set of stainless or even better glass plugs or eyelets that are smaller than your stretch. Let your ears settle down. A few weeks... at least.

Go to your local friendly neighborhood tattoo shop and talk to their piercer. Don't go to some shitty ass scratcher shack.. find a reputable shop in your area. And don't be a picky prick about prices. Shit piercers charge shit(cheap) prices.
