Has anyone here ever done a study abroad program? Where at, and how was it? I'm thinking about Sydney, Australia, but I'd like some opinions on the whole thing. ~Nova
Where do you go to school in Tacoma? Just curious...lol. I've done some research, but not look into studying abroad too deeply. I think it would be a wonderful oppurtunity, though, and wish you the best of luck wherever you go and whatever you do.
I didn't actually go to school in Tacoma--I got stuck down at Puyallup High School (ewww). Now I'm at CWU, and I'm wanting to leave this place for a while. See the world and all that, and not as part of a tourist group. It'll be interesting, that's for sure! ~Nova
Just look around, find the programs that are out there - Peace Corps and AmeriCorps come to mind right off the top of my head...if that's the kind of expereince you are looking for. I'll be interested to know what you find, and eventually, what you decide on...if you don't mind sharing.
I know I'm going to spend a semester in Spain and a semester in Latin America while I'm in college. Then again, the semester in Latin America is required for my major. Everyone I know who has done it has said it was an amazing experience, especially for immersing yourself in a foreign language (although that doesn't seem to be the case for you). If you have the chance, do it. Normally it's not all too much more expensive than a semester or year at your normal university.
I attend James Cook University in Townsville, Australia and I see a lot of International Students around the campus.
