I'm looking for some new tunes. I only just got into hip-hop, and I hate bling, bitches, and glocks. I listen to the Hilltop Hoods (their site has 2 albums for free, if you don't know who these Aussie geniuses are) and Kottonmouth Kings, and thats kinda the type of stuff I'm looking for. GZA is good too.

Get the Wu-Tang meets Indie Culture album. Look up J.Period, He's a DJ that can put a great mixtape together. The best of Lauryn Hill, The best of The Roots, and I think He got the best of Nas. That should keep you going for bit.

ayo....wait, public enemy is not amazing, my bad, people like it but I think they're really corny and those beats are horrible. You want to listen to something crazy get on that Mr. Lif, or Jugganots, Juggaknots..I dont remember how to spell it. Anyway if you want to hear that crazy shit listen to "Jugganots - The Fire In Which You Burn Slow" the beat is a nice trippy, sitar mix and the lyrics are just tuff. Listen to that song, what else, theres always A Tribe Called Quest, theres so much out there I think I might have to make a list.

It's not really "hip-hop" as much as it is "horror-core rap", but the OLD SCHOOL Three Six Mafia shit is always worth listening to. Just make sure it's the old shit, because their new shit is lame, by comparison.

Make sure to check out all of their sub-artists too, such as Koopsta Knicca, Kingpin Skinny Pimp, Playa Fly, Project Pat, MC Mack and ScanMan(Killa Klan Kaze), Lord Infamous aka Tha Scarecrow, M-Child, and a whole slew of other redonkulously talented artists that most people will never hear about.

yo are you saying public enemy is horror core? you want to listen to some horror core listen to Gravediggaz. I dont know anything about that southern shit though, so I wouldnt know about three six mafia. I'm sticking to the northeast hip hop because that south just has a different sound. shit that makes you rock and shit, I'm not into that

hahaha nah man. I was referring to Three Six Mafia's old shit as horror core. Sorry....I thought that was clear.

The reason I like the old Three Six Mafia shit is because it can take you in any direction you wanna go. If you feel like getting wild or if you feel like relaxing, their music can go both ways. They have nice and smooth rolling beats that just accentuate the mood you're already in. If you're in chill mode, they will have you zoning out. If you feel like going crazy for a while, there's nothing better than some old ass Three Six Mafia shit. Turst me, man.

Listen to the following albums by Three Six:
    Mystic Stylez
    The End
    Chapter 2: World Domination
Live By Yo Rep(Dissing Bone Thugs)

and listen to these Three Six sub-group albums:
    Koopsta Knicca: Da Devil's Playground
    Killa Klan Kaze: Timez Up
    T-Rock: Rocksolid 4:20
    All Project Pat albums

    And MANY more.

Here is some of my favorite rappers:

    • Tupac
    • DMX
    • Xzibit (Old Records)
    • Dr. Dre
    • Snoop Dogg (Old Records)
    • Immortal Technique
    • Canibus
    • 50 Cent
    • Mobb Deep
    • The Game
    • Ice Cube (Old Records)

As far as albums go, here are a couple that I recommend:

All eyez on me (Remastered) - Tupac
Loyal to the Game - Tupac
    Greatest Hits - Tupac
...And then there was X - DMX
    The Great Depression - DMX
    2001 - Dr. Dre
    Restless - Xzibit
    Man Vs Machine - Xzibit
    Guess Who's Back - 50 Cent
Get Rich or Die Tryin' - 50 Cent
    The Documentary - The Game
Revolutionary Vol. 1 - Immortal Technique
    Infamy - Mobb Deep
    Blood Money - Mobb Deep

There's a shitload more that I could recommend, but if you're starting your collection and you're looking for some quality rap albums, look for some of the ones that I mentioned above.

More Pac and less Dre/50/Mobb Deep. I mean, how can you only recommend 3 Pac cd's? ALL of his cd's are better than any other artists' cd's you mentioned.
