    Theres threads all about barefooting....

But what are surfaces that feel soo good to your barefeet.

Me i like soft grass and mud and sand.
examples: Mud is so squishy and cold i just love it. I like to walk from the hot gravel or pavement to some nice soft grass or when its rainy twirl in the rain and mud is so pleasant.
Sometimes if my feet hurt its soothing to walk on the rocks.
After work when my feet hurt from having to wear shoes all day i would take them off as soon as i got off of work and i would go home and walk on the rocks and it was like a massage for my feet..

But i love all surfaces. :D

What about you.. lets hear them!

You already mentioned grass. The beach is a personal favorite and I love the contrast you get from the cool smooth floors of a store after walking across a warm parking lot.

Glass-smooth polished concrete floors are nice. Carpet is nice, too.

I also love walking around in the grass, especially in the fall with leaves on the ground. My 2-year old son thinks it's funny when I kick the leaves around. :p

I also love pretty much any outdoor surface after a rain shower, stepping in the puddles, etc.

    - polished granite floor in the mall (wonderful if you went over hot summer streets before)
    - smooth worn out sandstone rocks, plates and sandy stretches on hiking trails in the Vosges mountains
    - centuries-old stone floors, tile floors or even mosaic floors in castles, churches etc. (telling their thousand stories while you walk over them respectfully)
    - dancing on smooth floorboards of an old ballroom (telling the lkove stories of generations)
    - bouncy forest ground
    - moss fields
    - some amphibic landstripes on the sea shore
    - cobblestone streets with worn smooth surface in inspiring historic towns (telling about live in the past centuries)

    *sigh*

    etc. etc.

I love walking barefoot especially on natural and earthy surfaces, such as grass, soil, sand, mud... all those keep me in touch with Nature and help me decelerate from the fast, mechanistic, over-competitive and success-oriented urban world I am required to function in... Living is done whenever my bare feet touch natural surfaces.

    Wiggling bare toes,

I love the hot pavements and streets in the summer! And any smooth floors like those you would find in a mall.. if your feet are hot the cool granite/stone floors feel sooo nice!

I like the feeling of mud too, but not if its freezing cold!!

I like city streets, hot pavement, store floors, parking garage and stadium floors, just any place I normally walk. Smooth floors like malls, department stores are great for shuffling your feet on. Just feels very comfortable! Your soles will get a shade of grey over black if you walked through the parking lot first.

WE used to live in a large townhouse complex with a very large underground parking garage.

I would make excuses to walk underground in the filthy garage, through oil slicks from cars.

When I came out the other exit, my feet were black as night.

I went back a little while ago and got locked from going inside....really miss that place.

    I enjoy that as well..

I also enjoy it when I been out trompin in the snow for twelve hours and then I come home and peel my boots and socks off and stand on the heat register and the heat is just slightly hot enough for the metal grate to barely burn my feet and then I gotta step off of it for a couple seconds then stand on it again and then it leaves waffle patterns on the bottom of my feet. (not permanent)

I also like my squishy bathmat
