Swappable laptop GPUs sound like a myth, but that's not the case anymore, thanks to Framework and Nvidia

Framework became famous for inventing the modular laptop, that you can swap any part in and, here, they've worked with Nvidia to make it easier to swap the graphics card. The article itself points out that we're headed in the direction where you can plug and play with different chips in your computer, and these laptops are designed to reduce waste. With modern laptops, the processor can have its own integrated gpu, so you can leave the graphics card at home and save weight.

An interesting point is that these graphics cards are becoming more outrageously efficient, but that also makes them easy to overclock, and the newest thermal management systems could easily more than double their performance. Which means laptops like these could be used by professionals to make content, then pull their expensive graphics card out, and save it for the next time. For gamers, it means they can sell their old gpu, and buy a new one, which is quite popular. For gamers, a gpu for a laptop like this might run up to $1,600.oo, but they cut that cost significantly over several years by just selling their old gpus, and upgrading.

Its recycling at its most fundamental and effective level of just reusing it for its original purpose.
