So, can you swim? Who taught you? How old were you when you learnt? Did you ever have swimming lessons?
Yes I can swim. I've been swimming since I was a baby. At six months old my mom would take me down to the public pool, blow in my face, dunk me and I would swim to the top and tread water. haha I was always in water during the summer and taught myself how to swim. I never had to wear those arm floats or life jackets.
I can sort of swim. Not well. I struggled to learn until I was 8 or so, and I got by on breast stroke for a while. Then I went to Australia, and the waves there really kicked my ass, so my friend ,who was quite the swimmer, ended up teaching me. I think he did so out of fear of me drowning and also for mocking rights. I still suck at it though. I did a 400 meter swim test a few months ago, and the only person to finish later than me was this 45-year old office rat.
I grew up by a lake (and the sea wasn't far either) so I've been swimming since I was very little. Never had swimming lessons, my mum loves swimming so she taught me.
i have been swimming since i was a baby...it was basically they put little floatie things on my arms and let me go and once i got the hang of that i didnt wear them i just swam myself...when i was around 8 i guess i took some lessons for like different strokes and stuff but it was pretty boring cause it was so easy so i just did it myself...
weird, i can say pretty much the same. parents threw me in the pool when i was 3 months. started swim lessons soon after so i could join the swim team. when i was old enough, i started to compete with the YMCA, then moved to compete with the boys and girls club and dominated for a good while. i got burnt out, so i stopped swimming. after feeling i was done being burnt out, i competed up into D3 college level and did alright for someone my size haha so yea, i love swimming
Yes, I can and I absolutely love swimming. I did have lessons, in like 3rd grade but just because it was obligatory.
I've been swimming as long as I can remember, my mom tells me that i learned by being thrown in the pool and either sinking or swimming...i asked what would of happened had I sank? and she just laughed
I can swim... sorta. But I'm not a very strong swimmer. I got held back a year with swimming lesson's as a kid because I refused to let go of the little flutter board thing. I didn't think that was possible. We dont have any pools or beaches out this way anyway. I dont even own a swim suit. Just as long as I know I'm not too far from the shore, I'm happy. But I would still love to go snorkling someday. I'd just need someone to drag my ass back up to the surface
seems like a lot of us were just tossed in the water to fend for ourselves  its how i'm going to teach my kids. pussy parents will be kicked in the throat if they say anything to me
I had swimming lessons when I was 8 years old with my 4 year old little brother and he was such a little cry baby that the lessons were mostly spent trying to coax him in the water. I taught myself to float on my face and wiggle my arms and legs to move in my own pool at the house. I also taught myself the backstroke. I kicked ass at swimming for a long time, but it's been a long time since I've been swimming more than just bobbing around in the water and playing with friends, so I'm not so great at it anymore.
I have been swimming since the beginning of time..I once swam a half mile across a lake that had alligators.
I love to swim, dad has a swimming pool in his house so it was a lot of fun to run downstairs past midnight and jump in the pool... good times
i had infant swimming lessons which, like many people's here, consisted of being thrown in the water and left to fend for myself. then i forgot how to swim during my toddlerhood. i had swimming lessons again when i was 6ish, and i got nothing out of it, at least in part because the water was about 35 degrees at all times and i couldn't concentrate on anything other than not freezing. then when i was around 10 i taught myself how to swim, and within a few years i was one of the better swimmers i knew. now it's still one of my favorite summertime activities.
I took swimming lessons. And my father participated in swimming competitions in his youth; he taught me some. And my stepfather. I swim ok, and it's my favorite physical activity.
