Talkshow hosts tried to grill Tim Leary

on countless occasions. I love how he handles them with a laugh. He always remained calm and let the "usuals" plead the same case. How many kids "lost their minds" or "overdosed" or committed suicide. I havent seen every interview obviously but I havent heard him say it was impossible to overdose. Was that even known during those times? It's so funny to hear these talkshow hosts talk out their asses about shit they knew NOTHING about. They rambled on and on with with their bullshit because they knew everyone in the audience would agree. They'd get him on these talkshows to sandbag him like it would prove anything. Just so they could paint this picture of Leary as a devil and know they'd have someone holding up a sign telling when to clap and agree with the host.

People who cant think for themselves are so funny.

I did see a vid where the talk show host was really trying to grill him and Mr. Leary just laughed it off. I don't think he could've handled himself any better.

 

Agreed. I saw one where he was like "CALM DOWNNN" to the host and he got the audience laughing at him... and he was like "cmon man tell it like it is, tell it like it is!"

There was a TV personality named Art Linkletter in the 60's who was very popular. His daughter died by falling out a window and he claimed it was because she was on LSD. I don't know if that was true, but everybody heard about this and it was the basis of most of the ideas that LSD was dangerous. I think it might have been one of the main reasons Ronald Reagan outlawed it when he was Governor of California in 1966.

I'm sure every time Leary went on TV, somebody mentioned it.

Yeah I saw the one with Linkelatter. He exploited his daughters death. In that interview (or some other one) it comes out that she never used LSD, ever. It came from her friends or something else. In that same interview Art Linkelatter says "I HAVE ABSOLOUTE FACTS TO BACK UP SHE DIED BECAUSE OF LSD!". The host then says what proof do you have? He says he heard it from her friends and cousins and blah blah. Sorry but where in the world is that considered positive proof?

 

i watched some of that interveiw and all i have to say is leary took alot of shit he shouldnt have at the time and besides it was her life, if she decided to cut it short so be it, shes the one whos going to have to face mother earth

 

I think the story is she jumped out her window thinking she could fly... and acid put her in that state of being. So acid was the devil.
