tats are permanent, which is why i have taken years compiling ideas in my head about "what do i want?" "where do i want it?" "which do i want first?" well i have finally made a decision on what i will get first, just tweaking where i want it. words are important to me, and music is right up there too, so i have decided that i wanted a lyric that a) describes me/says something about me. b) means something to me. c) will make ppl think when they see it. anyone with a half good taste in music will recognise this one "ill disintegrate over time, if i expect my body to try to keep up with my mind" what do you all think, do you recognise it? what is your first tattoo, and what thought process went into your decision?
my first tattoo was an India Ink tattoo on my forearm, done with a sewing needle when I was shitfaced. I initially wanted a peace sign, but it got all kinds of fucked up, now it's just a dotty circle with a line through it. but I'd say that no one can really tell you if a tattoo is cool or not, because its your body and your decision. I honestly hate that tattoo, but every time I look at it it brings back fun memories of how stupid I am.
I was going to egt the lyrics "Don't regret the rule i broke, when i die bury me in smoke" tattood on me or "Unscarred By Trials" both awsome from awsome songs
I don't know if I agree with your statement about the recognizability of Blind Melon. Plenty of kids with great music taste that i know wouldn't be able to distinguish no rain from hell. that being said, get it if youre down. Working on finalizing my first, been working on finalizing it for years. Probably won't happen within this decade
^^^ probably only when it comes to idiots who don't know what they want.. and pussies who can't stand still... other than that.. i don't see how its any more stressful than someone who paints on a canvas
i would like to get a tatoo, but just like you said, i dunno what i want. my buddy designed his own tatoo, it's a tree in the shape of a woman, over laided on top of an old fashioned looking map of the world. pretty cool
For my next tattoo, I wanna get the state of Georgia filled with a bunch of potleaves and the words "Georgia Homegrown":sifone:
Definitely:sifone: Here is my first tattoo. If you can't tell what it is, it's the catterpillar from Alice in Wonderland, sitting on a mushroom and smoking a hookah. The pic was from when it was still fresh, and the colors were still a little fukt up, but it looks better now, because the green part of the mushroom cap is now red/yellow. It was only $40, believe it or not: And here is my second, which was also $40:
When I was younger I thought it would be funny to get a squiggly black line really small on my bicep or something. Then it became blue. Then i decided it would be on my hand. For at least a year now I've decided on getting a very small blue star on the skin in between my thumb and index finger when I turn 18. I don't think I could ever regret that too much. Unless when I'm old and it gets wrinkly it will look like a burst vein or something.
i want to lose weight and get some kind of words of meaning tattooed vertically up my side, possibly in german.
I'd like to get some sort of poem, with personal meaning, tatted on my body. Also, when I have children, and they are old enough to do so, I am going to have them write their own names on some paper and then have their names tattooed on me in their own handwriting. I'm sure they will think that is the coolest thing in the world. lol
yea thats pretty neat. I want some tattoos, but i will design everything. so far i have done some idea sketches etc, but i just store them so that when im ready, i can combine them together into a composition. It will be very unusual, impossible to understand without explanation and have many things disguised inbetween the the larger thoughts.
those are badass! if for some reason i ever feel compelled to get one i think the chesire cat would be great
that sounds like a fuckin awesome tattoo.. and blind melon is the shit! i love tattoos with words or lyrics involved. it really says something about the person, i think. go for the tatt-- and post pics when/if you get it!
