i'm planning on getting a tattoo soon, but i need to get an idea of how much it's going to cost.

i think what i'm gonna do is get some stars tattooed up my forearm, none of them are going to be any bigger than a quarter. and i'm guessing there will be like 6-8 stars, some little, some bigger and all different colors.

how much would you estimate the cost for that? and what about if i didn't color them yet? someone please help, i can't find shit on the internet about the cost.

Usually the standard start price for tattoos is about 50-60 dollars. It all depends on the tattoo artist, and if he wants to make a quick buck off you that day, and give you some ridiculous price of like 150-200 dollars. If she/he's a professional, level headed kind of person, they'll be up front and honest, and tell you. The only way you'll really know is if you go in and inquire. Give them an example of the star you want on paper, and ask them how much would it cost to get what you want.

Sorry I can't help you with that. I come from a culture that doesn't believe in tattoos. The thought of pricking the skin and injecting colored ink for wearable "art" is ... well ... not our thing.

Any reason you are driven to do this ?

just kidding. i am a common breed known as 'tattooed white trash.' I have three. they are addictive, they make you different... but they certainly don't tickle. :)

I also spare no expense because it's *my* hide.

I've spent $160 at the most... but it is a big piece. Yeah I guess I'm slightly hard-core.

Look at the artist's portfolio and make sure it's something you really want.

tattoos are great, theres nothing wrong with getting them. and i want them because it 'is' art...

so how's your culture feel about piercings??? :p
ahh, shoving metal through the skin and stretching it unnaturally...such fun...

my stretchs across the lower back, three yellow roses (accented with red and orange touches), greenery, and rather fine details and such. it took about an hour and a half once he started with the machine and had everything in place. mine was 120. in this area he seems better priced than most. (i have friends who have gotten ones from him and others.)

I've paid anywhere from $20 for a small heart on my ankle to $350 for the fairy on my back. And many prices in between. The work I had done in Ohio cost more than the work I had done in Illinois. But my last piece done in New Jersey was outragously expensive. I have a cresant moon with a goddess sitting on it holding a crystal ball. It's about 8 inches by 5 inches. Cost $150. The fairy on my back sitting on mushrooms was $350. She's only about 6 inches by 4 inches. Depends on where you live and the reputation and quality of the artisit.

One of the many petals that make up the flower of who I am. But I have health reasons against it as well as a whole host of other reasons. I'm not into changing anyone's mind here. Always curious to know what would drive a person to want to do it.

the most i have paid for one was 1,500.00 but it is two giant wings that are on either side of my back. my sister is pretty well off and she paid 4,500.00 for hers but it is a whole back piece just from under her neck done to the top of her buttocks. its kind of funny because she is a doctor and me i am going to take the bar examine to be a lawyer next month. its great when we go to family get togethers in the summer where we wear bra strap shirts and she wears a belly shirt and they see our tattoos and are like oh nice art do you still work at the grocery store and we tell them no and tell them what we are doing. they look like they have been shot.

i believe tattoos are a big decision. Doing something that will permanently be on my body for the rest of my life, who knows where my life journey might take me, but i do know that tattoos in visable places arent very attravctive to me, however were all different.
