Finally saw it last night....we have owned it for two years but I never watched the whole thing for some reason.... it confused me..........***I will probly have to watch it again, I get the main idea of it but it kinda threw me off...........................***anyone else notice how the taxi driver and heroin bob for SLC Punk look like twins???????????????????
Its one of my favorite films. and probably my favorite Scorsese film. I dont find it confusing at all.
I love taxi driver, i rememebr first seeing it... how can u find it confusing? That woman turns him down and he tries to assassinate the guy shes promoting to be mayor...and he tries to save that young prostitute because he thinks she dont know what shes being used as..... its a very strange film but very good... i love the background music
That movie fucked me up for a couple days after I watched it. I was up at like 2 in the morning and couldn't sleep and it came on.... it was kind of traumatic. And I haven't been able to look at Harvey Kietel the same since....he was such a sick perv in that movie. Blech. But all that means that it was a good movie.
edited......................... when he talks to the girl in the end, is he really talking to her or is it a weird metaphor or something, cuz his hawk is gone............
if you think Keitel was sick in that you should see "Bad Lieutenant". the films nc-17. its a very disturbing film but one of his best performances.
I think everything about this movie has been said over and over again. I just wanted to mention that to me, "Taxi Driver" has always been about loneliness. Also, I'm pretty positive that the character Travis Bickle was developing some form of schizophrenia. On a side note, Scorsese himself appears in a little role (he's that passanger in DeNiro's cab who's out to shot his wife) but I noticed by coincidence that you also see him sitting in front of that Palantine supporter building, right in the beginninig when they introduce Cybil Shepherd. I just took those screenshots: and what's that shit about Harvey Keitel? I thought was hilarious in this one.
