    Hello everyone!

I've been teaching martial arts for a few years, and my boss recently caught me meditating before I start my work. He thinks that the children we teach could benefit from learning to meditate, both for the relaxation and for the focus that meditating brings.

The only problem I have with this is that I have no clue how to teach something so internal. The kids obviously can't learn something like this from watching me do it, and I can't really correct some of the finer points of it(at least not in the group setting of a class). Anyone have any comments or tips?
Any help is much appreciated ^_^.

OMG! I started this program at an after-school care company that is nation wide called Mellow Moods. it was to calm down kids with disabilities (mostly autism). Even though I was very into yoga at the time I did not focus on physical technique, but rather meditation. Correcting a child's move3ments in yoga doesn't really seem age appropriate. Instead i khad kids vision places and 'paint' them in the air. Also chek out chinese meditation techniques for kids. They have some fun games where kids pretend to be animals and in the process 'accidentaly' work out unresolved feelings. The structured activities eventualy lead to a clear mind for free meditation at the end.
If you want any more info you can pm me. i have the program on this cd rom I had made. I am going home next week so I will have access to it.

Well i'm 15 and my mom taught it to me at age 10.
All you have to do is the simple stuff. Breath in and count to 7 only think of what the letters look like. Hold and release the same way then restart. thats how i learned. Just explain it that way. Don't make it to complicated> Keep it simple and to the point and they should get it.
    I taught it to a 5 year old i baby sit. ^_^
