Well FISA passed, Obama voted for it and McCain was missing in action for the vote. But President Bush is well pleased that it passed. We are all now open to being spyed upon.

I would think I am on the list. I have to clean out tracking cookies about every other day now. Have no idea where I am picking them up but I only visit a few sites everyday.

Whatever happened to the 1-800 fink line that the government set up just after 9/11 to call if you see something suspicious?

Window Washer is the program I use for that. It runs several times a day. I also have Firefox set to dump cookies the moment I close the browser. There are some other good programs out there that will handle this task.

A lot of cookies come in from advertisements on websites, even if you don't click on the ads. Most aren't malicious though.

I keep all that nonsense turned off at the firewall level.

As for the watchlist, it has become a huge overgrown mess that somebody will eventually be forced to clean up.

The Nazis kept a list like this too. If you had a Hebrew name, you were pre-qualified to be on it. It didn't matter if you were an actual threat or not. You were guilty by association.

Its not paranoia or anything, just good computer housekeeping.

I run a tight ship because Windows does such a lousy job of throwing things away. Bloated temp files and the like. I've worked on people's systems that had years worth of buildup inside. In the days of small hard drives, it was eating up free space.

Its just a good habit to get into.

No, I know they'll be back, but they slow me down. Thing is I don't overestimate their ability to keep up with technology either. These are the people that thought port-a-potties were mobile labs for chemical weapons. This is the administration that couldn't see the mortgage crisis or current economic mess coming. Or could they? And it suit's their agenda?

nice.. avast, antivir and threatfire are also top virus programs and a hacked/patched version of regcure is an ultimate for fixing your registry, just make sure your running an IP blocker when you patch it or update it (set manully) because people have been busted for using this product unlicensed..

I wonder if they are generating a little extra capital by selling our info to spamming advertisers? That would be very entrepunereal of them.

Perhaps if our "Activists" and "Jorunalists" really cared about fighting for our freedom we would not have to worry about what anyone was hearing when they listened in?

In NYC, Mayor Mike wanted to search backpacks on The Subway, The ACLU reacted strongly. If the ACLU had the stones to fight for Marajuanna rights perhaps we would not mind anyone looking in there. The Rights crowd has got it backwards.

Does this crew really give a damm about our rights? Or is all this just a club to beat one party out of office and take control of the Federal Goverment its patronage jobs and income sources?

It has nothing to do with parties

It has to do with an entire system of government. It's a brain tumour in the mind of a nation.

Deleting cookies will do nothing. All computers and computer programs by law must allow a backdoor for NSA information gathering. Chances are that if the NSA was using trackers, they would not be detected by any of the ordinary anti-virus/spyware programs. Everything you post online is is being monitored anyway via Carnivore-like programs, whether it's on message boards, chat rooms, or in e-mails.

I am sure there is more than a good chance that I am on the list.

They put me in a "sniffer" at the airport.
I was directed to a special area, The Princess got a pass.

a phone booth type of compartment that projected hi-pressure jets of air
all around my body in critical places, up the pants leg, beltline, neckline.

Sucked the air out for analysis, waited 40 seconds.

    I got the green light

Wonder why I was singled out?

    Gotta stop posting here!
