last night, me and two friends bought a 30 of coors, 2gs of some okay mids, and some firewood, and made a campfire. we were there for like 6 hours, just getting drunk and talking and listening to some music....i can honestly say it was one of the best times ive had this entire year. anywho, as we were walking back to our town, these ghetto girls started following us and asking who has the laser light (??)...they caught up to us and told us to stay where we were or they'd call the cops. fuck that. the guy with the leftover beer went to his house to stash his backpack because it was only a block away, and me and my other friend went to my house. the other kid was gonna catch up with us and we were gonna sleep at my house. we were walking to my house, and a cop pulled up to us and told us to take off our backpacks. he searched both of us and the only thing he found was some lighters and some clear eyes. they asked us who we were with, and we told him there was one other, but we werent sure where he lived or what his last name was, or where he was going. they made my friend go back to his house because they wanted to be douchebags (theres no curfew in our town, the police just know him because he took a 3 month break from school a while back). so yeah, we had an awesome time and no one got in trouble.
Wait a minute! You should have definately got that cop's badge number for invading your rights. They are definately not allowed to just go ahead with a search. If you let them search, then that's a different story... I'm glad it worked out for you...
cops are aloud to search your outer person to ensure their safety, but other than that without consent its illegal.
we knew they had no right unless we agreed, but we agreed. if we had anything on us we would have for sure said fuck no, but we didnt, so we let them do whatever they felt they needed to do.
Yeah, they are allowed to search you. Some places actually have a "stop and search" policy, where they search the driver of every car they pull over. It is for the cop's safety, but if they find drugs they can still charge you. A vehicle is a different story, however.
