Well i have been lurking here for about 3 months reading about the do's and don'ts and i'd like to say thanks. About 6 weeks ago i stopped conditioning, and didn't comb for a week as sorta trial run, i still used my regular shampoo. I didn't like how the hair sectioned along my natural part line but it was cool as i had decided to actually start my hair 3 days ago, as i had a family reunion and would let my family get a pile of pics with me having straight hair. but with my fam we where playing on the beach, or camping in the woods so i guess i started early well to cut to the chase, i got home 3 days ago, the part line was sectioning the same as before, so i backcombed it, and enough on the other side to some what balance it, so far all but two of the backcombed locks have split 2 or 3 times and about half of them kept the backcomb texture. front, the back combed back natural side view, both backcombed and natural a coupla questions, I've been washing with a light baking soda mixture, about 2 tsp to a cup, any suggestions on good additions, that won't hurt for use as body wash? well i had one more, it'll come back when my head hits the pillow. enjoy, and thanks
Looking good..... have you seen this thread.... http://www.hipforums.com/newforums/showthread.php?t=136945&highlight=deep+cleansing
the deep cleanse works amazing u can adjust or leave out anything u want although the deep cleanse might work too good for new delicate dreads it makes mine sooo soft and they get fuzzy your maybe better off using bronners or simular weekly then using the deep cleanse monthsly at least till theyre settled in then u can use it more often but thats just my opinuion if it woeks for u then go for it
