so ya i know, i'd love to come here and say how acid has no negative side effects, but there has been something that i have noticed in a few of the people that i know. i love acid, but i think it is important to have all the facts out there. sometimes some of the people i know will have occasional 'jitters' while they are tripping. kind of like a nervous twitch that is caused by the acid. i've never experienced this myself, but from what i've seen and heard it is like a twitch that travels up your spine and sometimes causes your whole body to jerk. tsZZzzZZ! only for an instant, and then it is gone -- it is uncontrollable. for the people that have experienced it, it doesn't happen every trip, and it can happen anywhere from once to multiple times during any given trip. now what i have noticed is that the individuals that experience this phenomena usually don't delve into the full spiritual aspects of lsd. they take the drug in ignorance of its full potential, or just for fun. also, it is very rare. from my own personal data i'd give it about a 1:50 ratio of people that it happens to: people that it doesn't happen to -- and by people i mean serious psychonaughts. and of these people it might happen only once every ten trips, or it might only happen only once and never repeat itself again. its totally random, and i have no idea what the cause is. now this isn't such a bad thing, it is just a twitch. but i find it interesting that the twitch definitely is caused by lsd, and will only occur while a person is tripping(not after they come down). there were no adverse effects, just a strange twitch. so heres my theory: given the charachter of the people that experience this(ignorant or unwilling to tap into the full potential of the drug) and the regions of the body which it stems from(the spine) my guess is that it is caused by unchannelled kundalini energy release. we all know that lsd can release psychic energy, and i believe that this twitch is a result of this energy building up and not being channeled correctly. anyone else have any experience with anything like this happening? thoughts? comments? what could be causing this? what does it mean? p.s. don't try to tell me that this kind of thing doesn't happen. i've seen it multiple times, in multiple people, with my own two eyes.
i dunno i feel like that sometimes when im coming up, i don't think it detracts from the 'spirituality' of the trip.
me too hahahaha i was saying more that it is a result of detracted spirituality in a trip, not the cause of it.
i guess because there are so many energy centers along your spine, and in kundalini yoga advanced states of consciousness can cause a warm feeling below or at the bottom of your spinal column. atleast that is where i drew the connection. also because all of the people that i know that it has happened to fit the same stereotype -- they don't fully take advantage of what acid has to offer.
Thats raw energy shooting up your aligned chakras. Light. Get your fuckin facts straight. Take a high dose and those energy surges are constant. Flowing up your back to your brain in harmonious infinity. Jeeze you guys gotta dose more!
Yep, I know what you're talking about I've experienced it a little. I tripped with a kid that had it bad though...twas funny! He thought so too. But he had tourettes no shit?
so couldn't it be possible that taking lsd could release some of this raw energy, and because your chakras are unaligned, that it causes the acid jitters? edit- i know what it's like to have energy constantly surging through my chakras, but never did it cause anything like the acid jitters.
uhhhhh so we are ruling out biological/psychosomatic explanations in favor of mystical spiritual-based beliefs that are piled onto other beliefs to create a huge mound of non-proven magical speculation? Well, just another day in the LSD forum.
And I dont see the connection to spirituality either.... It seems purely physiological. Edited to add...the kid I know who had it bad was very into the spiritual side of things. It's kind of unfair to claim someone to be less spiritual of a person because they twitch when they take a psychoactive.
I think we are talking about the same thing. I get "chills" or "jitters" up my spine on low doses, but on high doses, its like super charged and constant. You realize it is psychic energy, energy, light, whatever you wanna call it. And it is beautiful. Flooding your mind with warm, liquid light after shooting up your spine probably from the kundanlini or whatever. I get sensations like this on high doses of alot of psychedelic drugs.
And this is exactly why I have a problem with these sorts of completely unfounded beliefs. People experience something, they have no clue what it means, so they either make something up in order to explain it to themselves and others, or they look to commonly accepted authority sources (religion), in order to apply ideas and beliefs to their experience. What is sad about it and what ends up happening is just as you said - they start to unfairly judge other people against a scale that is ENTIRELY MADE UP in their own mind and has no source in reality, other than a feeling they felt when they were high on drugs usually I.E. - so and so doesn't seem to invest as much attention to spirituality as me, they get jittery on acid and I don't, acid is "spiritual", therefor, something must be spiritually inferior about them/I must be more awake/aware than they are. It's just a really fucking weird way of judging people when you think about it.
