the first time i ever dosed, i looked into lots of people's eyes, both tripping people and non-tripping people. it was the first time i truly discovered how much you can tell by looking into someone's eyes, and since then i look people in the eyes more often. it's fun, try it.
anyway! i've also discovered that i can sorta tell if someone's done acid before, by this certain look they have in their eyes. it's infinitely hard to explain, but a few of my friends know what i'm talking about when i ramble on about it, and we've dubbed it "the acid twinkle." i don't know how accurate i am when it comes to determining whether someone's done acid or not, without asking them, but i'm fairly certain i'm onto something....
    any thoughts? cheers.

That is very interesting. I wish I could tell if people have dosed before in some way. When I think about it, with both the small minority of people who have dosed, and the magnitude and profundity of the experience that the majority of the population will never get to have, I feel like we're members of some secret society or something.

I read a trip report where the girl took a dozen hits or so and after the trip her eyes had changed from green to blue for 3 days. I guess the rods or cones or something get affected in some way by your vision being dilated. definitely believable

]if she took a dozen hits she'd be tipping for 3 days and would see her eye color change" because it was all in her head?"
LSD cant change your eye color if it could make your "Green" eyes "Blue" it would of been "Hitlers" favorite drug...

whatev... here's the trip report i mentioned if you're interested

a distinction would be that you can "look" into someone's eyes and sense that they might have had a good acid trip, which is pry what the op is talking about, it just reminded me of this literal account of eye color changing.

... i thought everybody knew about this... "Acid Twinkle" is the perfect name btw, same that I would use, though I've never really talked about it in detail because like you said it is a tough shit to put into words, typed words nonetheless. it isn't a physical change in yo optical shit, it has to do with your doors of perception ;). Your eyes are like the windows into your soul right, these chemicals clean the dust off of those windows, making for a more pure connection between we human beings and the external happenings around us. When you make eye contact with somebody who knows whats up, you are allowed to see much deeper than the surface, because there ain't nothin that either of you is trying to hide, and alot of those barriers people develop in social interaction can be dissolved, that is why its called acid, because it is powerful enough to completely dissolve your ego, if you so choose to go that far out. additionally, various psychedelic experiences stay with you long after you come down, and people integrate the expanded awareness of vibrations, energy, lifeforce, and soo on into every moment, so it is kind of like you are tripping in that moment. One of those recurring themes that always comes up in any trip of mine is like, if people could exist in every moment like this we could make for the greatest change civilization has made thus far. I dunno just epic shit like that, I assume that yall can relate to this somehow, but i have no idea where i'm going with this, and I need to CRASH RIGHT NOW son!

    ps-good good topic to discuss

I think what's happening is that people who take LSD tend to be the kind of people who are open-minded, long-term thinkers, and generally laid back in the knowledge that life is so much more than working 9-5 and paying your taxes like a good little slave.

It's the twinkle of empowering knowledge!

I've certainly noticed that, while on lsd, it seems easy to look into someone's eyes and get a feel for what their general state of mind is like, and in a sort of telepathic way that is very different from the usual "look-in-the-eyes" while not on lsd.
But I've never noticed the "acid twinkle" in the eyes of people who've tried lsd before.

Vapordude, you remind me a little bit of Timothy Leary and John Lenon. Imagine all the people living as one if we all turned on, tuned in and dropped out.

yeaaaaa John Lennon for the win. Sucks nobody else notices the acid twinkle though... :(

well yea check out this quote

"Make no litle plans; they have no magic to stir men's blood and probably themselves will not be realized. Make big plans; aim high in hope and work. Rembmering that a noble, logical diagram once recorded will not die, but long after we are gone be a living thing, asserting itself with ever-growing insistence." - Daniel Hudson Burnham

I know what you're speaking of, although it's an aura for me, not how one's eyes look. I've also noticed that it's not necessarily taking psychedelics that give you that. I can tell anyone who has the keys to the universe, whether they got it from L, meditation, ritual magick or any other way.

It's simply a matter of authority in my perception. The eyes of someone who has begun to master themself have a way of peircing your own vision, and if they are superior to you in matters of experience/spirituality/maturity etc. you will be put in a state of subconcious (or in extreme cases, immediatley recognizable) awe and respect. In situations where the person is on the same level or close to your own, an immediate sense of connection is felt, "this person understands! What, I dont know, but I feel it too."
This, if anyone is interested, is how I would go about confirming a guru's authenticity, rather than by their words or actions. The sense, wether it be the aura or the gaze, that is given off by someone definitley determines their authority over whatever field they specialize in.

I've always known everything I need to know about a person just by looking in their eyes for a few seconds.

  19. This is such an interesting post because I know exactly what you are talking about. An acid twinkle, very cool way to explain what I would call and aura when you look at someone (like someone eles mentioned). Ever since I did a fair amount of LSD, I began to notice how there is actually something about a person who has been "experienced"? and it's clearly scene through this twinkle they have in their eyes.

It kind of makes me happy when I hang with my friends who have dropped with me, because you can see, in a way, that they too "know"...

    Awesome post [IMG]

I get more powerful gut feelings about people that are 99.9% accurate, so yeah I suppose I could tell if someone had done Psychadelics before.
