Oh My! Since I stood on a copperhead and got bit 4 times, and my ankle got swollen up as big as my head, I've had NO LOVE WHATSOEVER for snakes. :) Getting bitten also didn't take away my fear of them. If anything, it made me worse.

I've read about the snakes in Australia and it seems every single snake (and insect and animal) can and will kill your ass there! :yikes:

You should come here...you'd see all the snakes you never even thought about! :D you wouldn't even have to leave my/our 2 7/8 acres...hell, you wouldn't even have to leave the house at certain times of the year. gad`

edit: and that copperhead was on the sidewalk in my backyard!

I'd hate to be bitten by a snake, Lynn. Do you have scars from it?

I find them to be kind of like fish and therapeutic to watch. I'd like one as a pet, a harmless Python maybe. I think I could be one those girls with the inked up body and big Python friend. :D

I actually saw lizards at the pet store but man they stank. I didn't think they'd stink. But stink they did. =\

I found a baby snake in two separate pieces here today. I don't know if a cat or dog munched it in half.

I was bitten 8/1/2000...for a while I had scars but they've disappeared through the years. It took about 3 months for my foot to get back to normal size though. I was really out of it for a time...I understand why it is said that one of the things Native Americans do when they go on a vision quest is to drink snake venom.

We had a chow dog, Smokey Bear, (that lived in that same back yard) that would bite a snake in 2 with snappy quickness. I don't know how many parts of snakes I found when she lived in that back yard. :D

    I LOVED Smokey

Our dog snuggles would kill Copperheads and you knew when she had one too. She'd bark like crazy.

We had to call poison control the first time she did it because we couldn't find one half of the snake and I was afraid she'd die if she ate it.

They told us it's okay if the dog bites the snake as long as the snake doesn't bite the dog.

Venom is weird huh. It's like, if you get venom you need venom to fix it.

I hate when the day shift complains about night shift making more money. Any one of those motherfuckers is welcome to come on nights whenever they want. We make more money because nobody wants to work these hours.

Except me i love that i get paid extra to work the shift i already wanted.
We had one guy working nights and he was forced to switch jobs with a day guy because he was old and couldnt do that job. So the guy on nights gets no say about it. He loses shift premium then loses another dollar because the job he was taking over for paid less.

I never remember getting paid any more for night shifts >.>
Of course working weekends when Saturday rolled into Sunday and then you worked Sunday you got lots of 2x and a 1/2 hourly rate.

Night time people are always more colorful. :)

When I was bitten (and drove myself to the hospital), they watched me for 4 or 5 hours. I kept asking were they going to give me some antivenin (I think its called) or what?!? Of course they would ignore me.

After their alloted amount of time to watch me passed, they admitted since this anti-toxin was expensive and bla bla bla unless I'd gone into respiratory arrest or had a heart attack they weren't going to give it to me...said it was in short supply and it tended to make people sick (as if I was feeling great then  ).

I've since wondered a number of times if I have any natural anti-venom in my blood now.

probably doesn't work like that is my luck :p
