“It had long been suspected that the egg came first, but now we have the scientific proof that shows that in fact the chicken came first,” says Dr Colin Freeman, from Sheffield University. Here’s the explanation:

When scientists from Sheffield University and Warwick University used a supercomputer called HECToR to take a close look at egg shells, they discovered that a protein “called ovocledidin-17 (OC-17) acts as a catalyst to speed up the development of the shell”. They realised that this protein is crucial to actually forming an egg shell. They also realised that this protein is found in a chicken’s ovaries. Based on this, these scientists decided that the chicken must have come before the egg.

You just have to love that they still can not say where the chickens came from. Too funny!

I wonder how long it shall take to figure it out.

 

Don't tell them, but I'm almost positive a philosopher didn't come up with, "To get to the other side."

 

But why?

Why did he want to get to the other side?

What was wrong with the side he was on?

There had to be a reason. Why risk stepping out on hot asphalt with the change of getting hit by some crazy drunk driver?

The truth is more profound than that.

The way I see it it is a two part question.

The first being "Why?". Why is a question that has been asked for thousands of years, humanity always seeking the ultimate why.

The second being "did the chicken cross the road?"

The answer to that would be...Yes.

Can you believe I am actually not stoned?

 

Why?

Did the chicken cross the road? Yes, which is why we are asking why in the first place.

Why did the chicken cross the road? I don't know that there is a definitive answer to this question. Why is it always a chicken that crosses the road? Where is the road?

 

To affix time and space you need three coordinates. Chicken and egg are only two.
Intent comes first.

 

And one could never be absolutely sure of a chicken's intent as chickens cannot speak any human languages. One could think they know why a chicken did something, but would never be sure.

 

Why becase I am having a hard time believing I can come up with these posts when I am not under the influence of some kind of mind altering substance.

You questions remind me why I need to leave these ultimate mysteries in the hands of professional ponderer's.

It is dangerous for me. If I figured out the answers here, I am sure my head would explode.

I am not sure I agree with the scientists findings. But I am lost as how I can respond in an intelligent matter, without coming up with pure nonsense off the top of my head.

Sometimes unimaginitive pricks like me have a place.

 

If you've ever lived with chikens, you'd know that it's all because they're filthy, stupid, mean nasty animals who are always greedy for more more more. Just like people. Thus you can figure out their whys.

 

The easiest solution would be to ask the chicken ~ duh!

That would not be a chicken's intent but magnanimous intent. If it were a chickens intent then the chicken would have come first.

 

No one's thoughts and ideas are any more or less valid than anyone else's. Thought is thought. Unimaginative pricks like you always have a place

 

Regardless of anything else, the chicken always comes first. For if there is no chicken, there can be no egg, no road, no crossing, and no intent. No chicken to grow, cross, or intend.

 

That would be magnanimous intent. Animus animates animal. From magnanimous intent arise all forms.

a chicken and an egg are laying in bed. the chicken is happily puffing away on a cigarette while the egg grumbles "well i guess we answered THAT question..."

 

lol. So has the egg been fertilized? If so, then the egg came before the chicken that will soon be inside of it.
