man, that first Clash album is something else. that was one of my big albums when I was seventeen. cut for cut, one of the best albums I've ever heard, in both the UK and US editions. 'White Riot', 'Hate & War', 'London's Burning', 'White Man In Hammersmith Palais'... the only UK group from around that time that even approaches it's greatness (IMO) is Wire's Pink Flag.
I love The Clash, one of my favourite bands easily. Wish I could have had the chance to see them live. Death and glory, just another story, but Joe Strummer lives on in all our hearts....
you might enjoy it. he's not a half bad actor. there are a couple hilarious scenes where he drunkenly shoots Rockets Redglare and (accidently) shoots Steve Buscemi, who plays his brother-in-law.
'Guns of Brixton' is one of my faves. Got to love the Clash. Joe Strummer was a real hero of mine. I'm an old-school punk, so I'd be a bit of a crap one, if I didn't own Clash records
