With the dawn came the end of an era. I have been barefoot 24/7/365 since 1981. Last month some idiot hit my car and ran. I had to go to court to tell the judge that I had not been paid for the damage. The bailiff stopped me from entering and told me to get some shoes on. How? I don't own any. He found a pair of foam jail type shoes and made me put them on just so I could go and tell the judge I hadn't been paid. All those years down the drain. Wonder what they'll think when they find the foam shoes under the seat.

That sucks... I probably won't get to be completely barefoot until I get into the real world... And I probably still won't get to do so!

It's too bad the court spoiled it for you.

But look at the bright side, a quarter of a century is a damn good streak! Better than any I have now :p

25 years non stop, well done.

Just continue on your barefoot way, No reason why court should stop you. :)

Sorry to hear about your unfortunate courtroom incident.

Barefoot 24/7/365 since 1981? Wow you ARE a serious barefooter! Tell me, where do you live and what do you do to support yourself financially that allows you to be barefoot all the time. I'm curious.

Just ignore the few minutes that you wore them! It doesn't really count anyway! :)

I'd say that your record is still intact. You can't count those incidents where you're obligated to visit a hostile environment ruled by fascist shoddies.

That's awesome you went so long. I'm sorry you had this happen to you. It wasn't your choice, so if I were you I wouldn't count it against your time barefoot.

I live in coastal Georgia right on the beach. I own a bar with some very strict rules. No shoes, No shirt, great service. Im almost on the Florida line and even on the coldest winter days I stay barefoot. Sometimes it gets a little chilly without a shirt so I do compromise there.

Yep. Maddening as it is, it doesn't count.

Ugh. What's with those environments anyway. He's been bare for a quarter century.

I'll chime in as well, you were FORCED to wear shoes in order to go to court and was not YOUR choice, so that doesn't count. just chalk it up as a bad dream and it really didn't happen.
