Did you know that you do not have to work to make it in life? I mean, to get by in life? I even mean to survive in this world?

What is with all this typical talk about some people being too lazy to work? Or what's with all this typical talk about Mc Donalds is always hiring?

Cut that out! Stop it right now if that spells you out that are apart of doing just that.

Why are people trying hard to get you thinking to work?

Did you know all you have to do is go to a crisis center (emergency psych ward), ensure you get diagnosed with some kind of a mental illness, then get sent to a psychiatric hospital for a stay of just 5-7 days, follow the follow up treatment plan once you're out of hospitalization with a request for them to assist you to get on SSI (Suplementary Security Income) benefits and foodstamps, and you are all set to get by in life for life? This does indeed mean you no longer HAVE TO work to get by. They'll set you up in an apartment, too, to live semi-independently or independently once you stay in a group home. You'll be set. Trust me on that!

I want to see more people taking advantage of SSI. Why look for a decent paying job that just aint there anyway? Besides, give the people going to school to become psychiatrists more patients to work with.

Don;t let people try to get you into thinking you can only work to get by in life. With things like SSI benefits, you don't even have to turn to a life of crime to try and get by.

Don't look to welfare, it gets cuts. Look to SSI where your future will be in good hands. You'll never have to become a bum ever since they have group homes available that are ready to meet your needs.

Be smart, not stupid. Why work for someone when you dont have to? You still can but why have to?

How many of you live paycheck to paycheck?

How many of you are underemployed?

^^Why put up with any of that when you can relax in life and let SSI benefits do their thing?

It's always a good time to live life work free.

    Cheers to less stress!

Cheers to not being so robotic in life!

Cheers to not being a wage slave!

You gon' go to school and do all that hard school work, hoping it pays off, and just end up in a ton of debt with no decent paying jobs you'd qualify for in sight? Or you gon' sit back and not work, and just let the checks come with other sorts of spectacular benefits?

    Go about SSI benefits!!!

Yeah, leech off of everyone who pays taxes and use resources meant for people who actually need them!

You can't be serious. You do realize the money for the SSI benefits comes from working people, right?

Is it really too lazy to work?

Or is it really too smart to work?

Money isn't everthing so why bother to earn it when it can be freely provided to you?

As for me, I'm on SSI. I live in a group home. I will soon be living in an apartment semi-independently first before independently. I will apply and easily get foodstamps once I'm in the apartment assistants will kindly set me up in. I will always seek to stay taking advantage of SSI benefits. Because I followed up with the treatment plan I am provided with a case manager. A case manager is someone who takes care of business for you, makes sure you're all set and living just fine. I have as guardians both of my parents, too. Once I move to apartment status I will be having it made. Currently I do not like this group home I am at. I've livied in a better group home in the past.

And that's the scoop on me. You got to live real and tell real stories in life because that is what might help somebody else out.

    By the way...

I made it easy on myself and made sure I got diagnosed with what I wanted to get diagnosed with. Now I'm labeled paranoid shizophrenic. This is the one where you think people are after you. Not the one where you hear voices.

And I currenty only take one kind of medication orally which has yet to cause me side effects. In the past I've had meds which caused bad side effects. I got off of each of them. The psychiatrists take you off of meds that cause bad side effects. Remember that.

    SSI FTW!!!

The reason I'm diagnosed is because my parents kept kicking me out of the house by having me sent to the crisis center. I'm actually sane but a little bit paranoid of my parents because of the stuff they used to usually do to me.

If I choose to work it'll only be for myself, and it'll be in showbusiness as something. Right now I'm just relaxing a lot and being a small time consumer. They call you a consumer when you live in a group home. My lap top gets free WI-FI at this group home. If it wasnt for free WI-FI I'd of had my parents get me a mobile hotspot so I can get internet access. See how smart and hip I am? It's about to be 2013, and I'm growing further into being a badass. lol.

If there was no such thing as SSI, the government would still take a % of your income for taxes.

But thank you for working if you work because that's benefiting people like me. I bet you feel like a sucker, while people like me don't.

Hi, John. Your life plan seems like it is fool proof. Good luck. Heck, you don't need it. I'd not like a life like that, though.

My guess is that this is more of a rationalization made by someone who is mentally ill and hasn't to come to terms with the fact that he is actually disabled.

I understand your point. Been there. But you just cant take. That will make you go truly mad. You need to least volunteer your free time and help others. Help out at the mission, shelter, food bank, Habitat for Humanity. Some people just cant handle the rat race called the 'American Dream'. The stresses of living in a capitalist society with very little worker and social protections. When you lose a job in a bad economy with children to support and bills to pay its hard and some people will go to desperate measures like alcoholism, addiction, homelessness or crime. Better to be on SSI then to be stressed to the point of depression and physiological health problems. SSI will take care of basic needs of food and shelter. I hope to retire some day and live frugally and volunteer.

No offence John, but I think you belong there.

And yeah, why not. If it is ok for you, live this way. No one is forcing you to anything.

I probably couldn't. Just because I want to make money on things I love doing. So I would be doing them anyway. I don't even need education, I've learned everything myself just by being passionate. But I want to finish university just to get parents off my head and to have a paper -> backup plan.

To all of you hating him. No one forces you to work. There always will be someone who will try to leech as much as possibile. You should worry more about polititians which steal your money and waste on stupid shit, rather than on people which found a way to fuck the system.

It is really funny. Do you really worry so much what happens with your taxes? Do you feel that YOU personally are working for him? In my opinion everyone working just wants to make some money and doesn't really give a shit about anything else.

The problem with everyones problems in this thread is their are too many people.

You wanna work less? You want more space? You want more free time? You want neighbors not 15 feet away? Then start telling people to not have any fucking children, and adopt what is here, only 20,000 die daily from starvation. So pick one, they are in all colors, damn.

I want benefits for what i put in, but at this rate, myself as well as millions of others ain't gonna get shit cause too many motherfuckers are back seat drivers who wont take the time to learn to change gears.

Is threads like this where a solid year or two of true anarchy would do a lot of good. It would prove in a matter of fast weeks who can hold their own.

    Reality check.

well said Broony..... And Warjohn, what you forget ,is that what you said is true in a way (we don't have to work).BUT .....as a human race, having to work and pay to survive on a planet we were born on!!!!!!............. that being said you just can't take life as a joke and live off the honest workers. My point here is that Warjohn missed the boat and doesn't help society in any way .If humans treated one another like some animals do,no one would have to work on earth but yet busy as hell helping each other.that's how i see the world as non workers, not living on the taxe payer.

Yeah, might want to consider OP's condition before you decide that he should be sent to a war zone to die.
