    So I decided to take some time out this morning, to discuss the decline of American Liberty, (in a non-bias manner.) Since Sept. 11th, 2001 the American people have been (almost willingly,) giving up our freedom in the name of security. This is a very dangerous trend. Indeed, Ben Franklyn once said "Those who would give up essential Liberty, to purchase a little temporary Safety, deserve neither Liberty nor Safety."

    First, I would like to talk about the TSA. As many of you know, they have released newly modified "metal detectors," which do not detect metal at all. However, they do in fact take naked images of all those who go through them. Also, they have been proven ineffective, as the weapons turn out black, whereas the whole background is black.

    This image was taken by the media to quell dissent, however, with a simple "Invert" of the color, the government can take a fully naked picture of you through your clothing.

    Another department of concern, is the Department of Homeland Security, which was established by Bush following the 9/11 attacks. The sole purpose of the DHS is to follow "trends of terrorism." But what is suspected terrorist activity? Supporting a third party candidate, organizing protests and, petitioning the actions of our government is all considered "possible" terrorist activity, and allows the DHS to spy on American citizens like us.

    Believe it or not, even the CIA (Central Intelligence Agency,) is dangerous to our freedom. The CIA originally drafted the plans for Operation Northwoods in the 1960's, which was a plan to make a false-flag attack in the United States, as a pretext for war with Cuba. John Fitzgerald Kennedy would not allow for it to happen and was shot dead shortly thereafter.

    Finally, I would like to get into the tyrannical laws both Bush and Obama have been passing, and how exactly they are unconstitutional.

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iIevNRKDdRQ"]Reality Check: NDAA, Presidential Power, Expatriation Act 5-11-12 - YouTube

    The Patriot Act- Allows federal agents to write their own search warrants for those "suspected of terrorism." This conflicts with the 4th amendment which clearly states;
    Another unconstitutional law is the NDAA, it is true a federal judge has blocked the provisions which allow the federal government to "indefinitely detain American citizens" without due process, but in the latest court hearing the Obama administration would not say if they were still using those provisions illegally.
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PZjXHjkzMD4"]Reality Check: Obama Administration Refuses To Tell Judge If NDAA is Being Illegally Enforced? - YouTube
    This is against several of our amendments, but most notably the 5th which states;

    One law that really concerns me, is HR 347.
    This is a scary bill because it directly goes against our very first amendment, and most commonly held beliefs of "freedom of speech."

    The faa reauthorization act, should be of grave concern for anyone who cares about freedom.
    So, for the love of God, what does all this mean for the American citizens? Well, it's obvious to me that the federal government is far over reaching it's bonds (of the constitution.) If you trust the government, go back to sleep and rely on the politicians who made this mess, to somehow fix everything. But if you decide to take the RED PILL, and awake from this matrix, I advise you get involved at the grassroots level.

    please get informed, browse the web and, prepare yourself. Something big is brewing in the USA the likes of which Americans have only seen in third world countries. I tried very hard not to talk too much about Obama himself in this topic, as it is a whole corrupt system. However, I ask that people are logical before voting for the "lesser of two evils," and give up on this system that has long since given up on us. We need to send a clear a viable message to our government, that all governments are instituted among men, deriving their powers from the consent of the governed.

    Thank you. Serenity, Tranquility and, Peace.

    PS: sorry for any spelling errors or incomplete thoughts, I've yet to sleep tonight, and I'm getting mad tired.

    ACLU isn't grassroots. I'm not so sure the others are, either.

    Well I know the ACLU isn't, but they are fighting the NDAA, CISPA and, other acts against the people.

    The other websites are in fact grassroots, and I hope more people get involved. Why are you so critical on any type of resistance when you seem like a freedom fighter yourself? I'm not telling anyone to trust politicians or the corporate controlled media, but we can trust our fellow citizens (United we stand, lest divided we fall.)

    I think this thread is extremely well written,informative and right on point! If more people would just take the time to step out of the box and just ffs try to get informed on what is really going on in this country. We might just might have a chance to pull ourselves from the edge. Thank You STPLSD25 another good thread with great links. Especially the copblock one!

    Thank you Absent.

    RJhangover, I may have been with you in 2008, but Obama and other democrats have expanded the war on freedom 10 fold in the past four years, so Democrats are not miraculously exempt.

    LetTheLovin'TakeHold- I wish I could +Rep you on that one dude, but the forum says I need to "spread reputation around." (Same goes for you AbsentWithin.)

    I am very disturbed about the loss of liberties in the US, especially with the NDAA, which seems too surreal to believe has been passed. It is very unsettling to wonder what America will look like in 5 years. I am not American, but I am a Canadian, and whatever moronic laws the bloated US goverment pass our equally pathetic government must follow. So I'm sure we will see growing tyranny up in the north as well as in the States and the UK. Every single citizen in the West should be out marching right now in the streets, but we are too hyponotized by television to care.

    It's true, dsd - you are going to feel the same pain soon enough. NAFTA and the 'Amero' - we are all in on this psychotic ride unless we choose to not participate in the corruption.

    It seems the West as a whole is failing. Things like drones are just so strange; they sound like a sci-fi trope. I didn't even believe in them at first. (I know better now...)

    Of course America/Canada/UK etc. have dabbled in authoritarian law before but what makes it really scary is the way modern technology allows for a thorough and extensive survelliance state. And of course the entire population is surrending every ounce of their personal information to the authorities through Facebook, cell phones, GPS etc. As long as the broad majority of a population is docile and passive, violence is unnessecary.
