Again, all thoughts/replies are welcome. Happy reading.

I was standing in the forest,
Kicking at some rocks along the creek bed.
The sound of the creek was music to my ears,
At peace and one with the nature.

    I took a look around,
    Noticing sound in the distance...
    A thundering, clanking sound.

Back to the quiet isolation and meditation,
Back to the rich green's and brown's,
Up north the yellow lines of the sun poke through trees.
A deer comes within sight taking a drink.
With sudden alertness, the deer looked up.
The deer ran south followed in tow by hidden family.

I was with them...one of them...

I looked back towards the Northern opening,
Men were coming in sight through the trees,
Followed by machines in air and on land
Their weaponry sparking and growing in sound
The East men clashed with the West men

    Then our trap was sprung...

Mushrooms of fire sprout up from the ground,
As the men and machines fell into holes we dug.
Our mission was to save the forest and contain fire,
Driving away any enemy who didn't relish the Earth.

The flying machines took off in opposite headings,
No need to waste expensive aircraft on their enemies.

We split up in three groups,
One group to bury the dead and cover the holes,
Two groups to capture the scattered East and West men.

Once captured the living men had an option,
Stay with us, hidden, fighting for nature,
Or return home and fight for leaders with disagreements,
For our pack of deer fight for realistic cause,
Not for fame, power, greed, or control,
But for the Earth that has allowed us to live here,
For we are Deer to Earth and deer to mankind.

    We are "the deer".
    We are men.
