the 1971 $100 bill is today's $514.45 bill. minimum wage 1971 $1.60 minimum wage today $7.25 the dollar is 5.1 times more useless, but you get paid only 4.3 times more.. most americans would be surprised to know that the dollar is fiat money.. thus it is declared by the government to have value, it does not have a fixed value, and it has not intrinsic value. a fiat money is typically backed by a state's future tax incomes.. now if the us government is in debt nearly 100% the amount of the money it makes in one year... how is the dollar worth anything more right now than the paper it's printed on?? answer: the fact that most people don't realize it is worthless..
I once worked as a teller at a bank....when you work around that much money, it really does become just a piece of fancy paper.:sifone:
in the last three times I did laundry my wallet got washed twice...one time I was broke and just ruined some pictures and notes..... the second time It had money in it
I felt like that when I washed my last pack of rollies. Too bad money is to think and doesn't stick well....
its really bad when you wash a tube of chapstick...that sticky shit gets all over your clothes. And then you dont have anymore chapstick.
I am constantly finding screws, coins and nails and such in the laundry. I am thinking of sewing everyone's pockets shut. Pens are the worst.
last year I could hear something clunking in the dryer but was too lazy to get up and check what it was it was my cell phone
its quite simple...the last three times I did laundry 1st time...washed an empty wallet but had some pictures in it that got ruined (also some vehicle ownerships but they survived) 2nd time ..washed the wallet again ..this time it had money in it 3rd time...I remembered to empty all pockets and everything was ok I keep forgetting the wallet because Im so paranoid about washing the phone again....(did that twice...one was killed and the one that made it through the dryer cycle actually survived and Im still using it but the camera frigged up)
