In 1980, Trump acquired the historic Bonwit Teller building. He demolished the 1929 Art Deco building to build his namesake tower.

Before the project began, several prominent residents expressed concern about the original building’s limestone relief panels, considered prominent works of art.

Trump agreed to preserve the panels and donate them to The Metropolitan Museum of Art.

But as construction continued, Trump changed his mind and had the panels demolished with the building, saying they had little value and were “without artistic merit.”

 

Apparently, those nasty texts were too much for the GOP to confirm Trump's bigoted nominee.

Then again, they may have been too little.

 

It poises the GOP House to acquire a seventh extra seat in the 2026 midterms.

 

It remains to be seen what Ohio will do with Trump's gerrymandering campaign.

The Ohio Supreme Court has ruled multiple times in recent years that the state's congressional districts be redrawn to alleviate the rampant gerrymandering that the GOP has done.

The current gerrymandered condition in Ohio hasn't been undone at all, even with the court orders.

t would look very sleazy for Ohio to now conform to Trump and gerrymander it even more.
