Newsom Flags Telltale Sign Trump’s Doctors Are ‘Worried’ excerpt: “Most people don’t take that many cognitive tests unless a doctor is worried,” Newsom wrote on X. On Air Force One, the president, 79, challenged Democratic congresswomen Jasmine Crockett of Texas and Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez of New York to a cognitive exam. Then, he admitted he recently took one—and struggled.

The administration’s newest emergency appeal to the high court was filed a month and a half after a federal appeals court in Washington held that the official, Shira Perlmutter, could not be unilaterally fired."
Controversial UFC fighter takes back his Trump support in wild rant: 'I was fooled' excerpt: Bryce Mitchell is interviewed by Joe Rogan after his win in a featherweight bout against Kron Gracie during the UFC 310 event on Dec. 7, 2024, in Las Vegas. (Jeff Bottari/Zuffa LLC) "I do not like the guy at all," Mitchell said. "The first thing for me was he didn’t release the Epstein files. They’re even acting like they didn’t exist. And, of course, they’re sending Israel and Ukraine all of our tax dollars just like the numb-nuts before him did. Putting America last, and now he’s blaming the beef farmers for the price of beef. Hey, I’m not biased, man. He talked a good game, he tricked me. I was fooled. I admit it."

David McCormick defended Donald Trump’s latest controversial moves in a rare interview, including the president’s $230 million request for the Justice Department to pay his legal bills, the demolition of the White House’s East Wing, and his party’s handling of the government shutdown. He also compared Democrats to “terrorists” in the tense stalemate over reopening the government — though he later walked that back."
Republicans Not Too Worried Trump Wants to Fleece DOJ for Millions Malcolm Ferguson Wed, October 22, 2025 at 3:35 PM UTC Republicans Not Too Worried Trump Wants to Fleece DOJ for Millions excerpt: At least one GOP member, Thom Tillis, had the courage to speak out. “It’s terrible optics, particularly right now,” he told CNN’s Manu Raju. “We’re talking about a quarter of a billion dollars transferring, maybe to the president when we’re in a shutdown posture.” But the majority of Republicans seem to be staying quiet.
Trump says he did perfectly on his MRI test. He didn't say why he had an MRI done on himself, but the reason was probably perfect. Trump confirms recent MRI but declines to give reason why

Trump calls for prosecution of more Biden-era Justice officials including Jack Smith and Merrick Garland excerpt: "In a Truth Social post, Mr. Trump accused four high-ranking officials — former Attorney General Merrick Garland, FBI Director Christopher Wray, special counsel Jack Smith and Deputy Attorney General Lisa Monaco — of signing off on an FBI probe in which investigators allegedly looked at nine Republican lawmakers' phone records. "These Radical Left Lunatics should be prosecuted for their illegal and highly unethical behavior!" the president wrote. He did not specify what crimes he believes they committed. The message marks the latest instance of Mr. Trump urging the prosecution of people he has singled out as political foes. Last month, he pushed Attorney General Pam Bondi to look into former FBI Director James Comey, New York Attorney General Letitia James and Democratic Sen. Adam Schiff. Since then, Comey and James have been criminally indicted."
Comcast. Another sellout to Trump. Comcast’s Ballroom Dance Donald Trump has spent years mocking Comcast chief Brian Roberts as a “lowlife”—now Roberts is helping fund Trump’s new White House ballroom, a move that’s left some of his own journalists mortified. Jon Passantino Oct 25, 2025 Comcast’s Ballroom Dance "Under a cloudless Washington sky this week, excavators ripped into the East Wing of the White House. Cameras captured the surreal spectacle—machines clawing through limestone and rubble, pulling apart a building first constructed under Theodore Roosevelt. The wing had long been home to the first lady’s offices and the small theater where presidents once watched movies. Now it is being demolished to make way for Donald Trump’s $300 million ballroom, a spectacle that has drawn outrage from the public and historians alike."
Comcast’s Ballroom Dance excerpt: "The decision by Comcast and other deep-pocketed donors to finance the project underscores the grotesque dynamic between corporate America and the mercurial, transactional president: companies openly buying favor, or at least hoping to stay off Trump’s enemies list. And for Comcast, the decision is deeply personal. Trump has frequently attacked Roberts and his news outlets, publicly calling him a “lowlife” and mocking the corporation as “Concast.” The insults have continued even after the conglomerate spun off its cable networks, including the Trump-loathed MSNBC and business-focused CNBC."
The Trump Doctrine Turbocharges Monroe and McKinley Venezuela has become Trump’s test of hemispheric re-engineering. By Thomas P.M. Barnett 10/25/2025 10:00 AM EDT https://www.politico.com/news/magazine/2025/10/25/trump-venezuela-monroe-doctrine-00618322 excerpt: "That is the paradox at the heart of Trump’s grand strategy: nostalgic and revolutionary, insular and imperial, defensive and expansive. Like the man himself, it’s everything everywhere all at once."
https://www.politico.com/news/magazine/2025/10/25/trump-venezuela-monroe-doctrine-00618322 excerpt: "Trump’s goals are not purely economic. He is Shelley’s Ozymandias personified, seeking monumentalization or visible proof of dominion. The Eastern Hemisphere, in his view, offers headaches and headlines. The Western offers trophies: infrastructure projects, resource corridors — even territorial acquisitions. The talk of annexing Greenland and militarizing the Panama Canal — dismissed by many as bluster — fits this pattern. McKinley thought in railroads and tariffs; Trump thinks in spaceports and pipelines. Both methods achieve the same end: self-actualizing national ambition. The symbolism also matters. To Trump, the Western Hemisphere represents heritage — the space of American myth, or manifest destiny reborn. He relishes the historical echo: annexations and canal zones as hallmarks of American greatness. It is no wonder, then, that he revived “Mount McKinley” as a name, reasserting 19th-century confidence as a 21st-century brand."
The list of Trump's excuses for imposing tariffs has become lengthy during his second term. Denmark for not selling Greenland to the U.S. Canada for the premier of Ontario publishing an ad about Reagan not being in favor of tariffs. For the criminal trial of his friend Bolsonaro (Tropical Trump) who has since been convicted of mounting a coup against his government after losing the election. For alleged drug trafficking by China, Canada, and countries in Latin America. India for buying oil from Russia. Reciprocation itself. Trump imposed reciprocal tariffs on most countries to match their tariffs on U.S. (which doesn't include extra tariffs that Trump imposes above the reciprocal tariffs). For trade deficits themselves for allegedly being harmful to the U.S. Trump declared a national emergency which he thinks gives him the right to impose tariffs (an issue now before the U.S. Supreme Court).
All of those are supposed national emergencies that supposedly give Trump sole power to exercise as he pleases without Congress and without court adjudication. When challenged, he keeps making emergency appeals to the U.S. Supreme Court whose six conservative justices have mostly given him the benefit of doubt (the type of adjudication that Trump embraces while he thinks he's insulated from all other adjudication that questions him).
The way Trump is going, an entire new Trump-vanity White House complex might have to be torn down after Jan. 2029 and rebuilt to its previous form after Trump is gone.
'We have to be good or ICE will get us': Takeaways from Chicago children caught in immigration raids excerpt: "Witnesses say there was no warning Fifth grade teacher Liza Oliva-Perez was walking to the grocery store across the street for lunch. She noticed a helicopter circling, then the SUV and its tail of honking cars. That morning, another teacher gave her a whistle with instructions to blow it if immigration agents were nearby. As Oliva-Perez fumbled getting the whistle to her lips, the SUV’s window rolled down and the masked man threw the first gas canister. “I couldn’t fathom that was happening,” said Oliva-Perez. Then he threw another, this time in her direction. She said she was only feet away on the sidewalk and didn’t hear the agents say anything. Then she ran toward the school, yelling at staff to get the children inside."
https://thehill.com/homenews/5572539-legal-experts-question-trump-settlement/ excerpt: "Reps. Jamie Raskin (D-Md.) and Robert Garcia (D-Calif.), ranking members of the House Judiciary and Oversight and Government Reform committees, respectively, suggested Trump could have taken his claims to court if he believed they had merit, but instead, “waited” until he was president to “secretly order” his subordinates to approve the settlement. They called the move “a blatantly illegal and unconstitutional effort to steal $230 million from the American people,” contending it violates a provision barring the president from taking payment from the federal or state governments beyond their salary."
