The Draft

anyone know if the draft will be reinstated now that bushit is back in office?

 

It's not supposed to be, but after another state-sponsored terrorist attack, anything could happen.

 

Bush claims there won't be a draft. Hopefully that is the truth. But give it a few years, if fighting keeps on like it has in Iraq, or if things get worse with Iran or North Korea I don't know if one can be avoided. I think we need to give it a year or two. Don't expect a draft tomorrow or anything.

 

My money is on the expansion of the PNAC "war that will not end in our lifetime". So those who think a lame duck President has anything to lose by pulling out the stops now are in for a big surprise.

For the sake of the planet, what little remains of respect for international law and the sovereignty of nations I certainly hope Im wrong, but I suspect there will be a rude awakening coming for many new Bush supporters.

 

The draft is coming back big time, and you better believe it.

We are fighting a WAR (for the ninnies who don't get it) and soldiers don't grow on trees. There's much to be done still, and I don't really blame the Prez for saying that there won't be a draft - compared to the shitstorm that was thrown at him, one little fib is nothing.

Anyway. Draft will be good for this country. There are very many people who could very much benefit from military experience and training. And mark my words, draft will be reinstated in 2005, so better get off your asses, put some shoes on and start working out.

It's high time that more slackers found out what it's like to be under enemy fire while idiots back home do nothing but badmouth the troops.

 

Our troops would get much more support if we didn't have pictures of our guys piling naked arabs on top of eachother, or worse. But I think the vast majority do support our troops. Just because we don't support the Iraq war doesn't mean we want to see our soldiers die.

A draft would not be good for this country at all. Didn't go over so well in Vietnam, and I don't think there would be much difference now. We don't need to divide America any more than it is now. It only weakens us.

And just because people aren't in the military doesn't mean they are slackers. Pull uncle sam's dick out of your ass for a minute, clear your head a bit.

And if you want someone to blame for the Abu Gharaib scandal, blame Democrats and liberal media who blew it out of proportion. Big deal, a bunch of naked arabs with panties on their head. I don't see liberal media pissing and moaning every time an innocent guy gets his head cut off. That humanitarian worker that got kidnapped is getting 1/10th of the coverage that the Abu Gharaib fiasco got.

P.S. As far as military service goes, I paid my dues, and I would've gone again if I could. So don't run your mouth about that either.
