The ego as story teller?

    Hey has anyone else on here noticed that the ego acts as a story teller, or narrator during meditation. Like when it feels like it is losing control, its start to tell you stories about your past and future to get you to engage it in a conversation, breaking your train of thought?

    yeah i noticed that.sometimes when im mediating out of nowhere i start to think of something that someone did to me in the past that pissed me off.the thought only last for like 3 seconds tho.i learned to ignore my ego.

    Yes that voice can certainly get in the way of you being your authentic self

    I don't interrupt the story-teller- I listen till he's finished.

    Just listening and not trying to forcefully stop the storyteller can be a good tactic. Go with the flow and simply observe
